A Unique Taxi Service + Yoon Chan Young’s First Adult Acting Challenge

Yoon Chan Young plays the role of Seo Young-min, a taxi driver who goes anywhere for money. He launches a taxi catering to ghost customers when Kang Ji-hyun, a ghost, becomes attached to a taxi resulting in the sales revenue dropping to zero.

Giving a glimpse of his character, he revealed how Young-min got his taxi from his mother as a gift and he has been earning money for his family to be happy.

He also shares the reason why he appeared in the drama.

“I really enjoyed reading the script. I think it went well like reading a novel. This drama was my first adult acting challenge, so it raised a lot of challenge and spirit in that area. It seems that I worked with a lot of responsibility and a sense of mission that I have to work really hard.”

Conveying the charm of Delivery Man, Yoon mentioned how in All Of Us Are Dead, he was busy being chased by the ghost. This time, it’s a different interaction with the ghost featured in the series.

“In this work, ghosts can be scary in some ways, but the fact that they can become friendly while communicating with them was an important point. It was interesting to understand the inner situation while communicating and sympathizing with them. I think it’s a very important part of this drama.”

Bang Minah’s Small-Screen Return

Marking her drama comeback since My Absolute Boyfriend, Bang Minah plays the role of Kang Ji-hyun, a soul who has lost her memory in Delivery Man. For unknown reasons, she becomes attached to Young-min’s taxi, and works together with him, claiming to be the sales manager of the Ghost Taxi.

Introducing her character, the actress relays Ji-hyun is a ghost and a person who is both strong and weak. She is a friend full of justice that can go from being charming to being shameless.

Regarding the reason for her appearance, she responded the interesting story attracted her a lot.

“When I read the script, the story was unusual. Since there is also a romance between ghosts and people, I was curious about how this would be realized.”

Replying to the question of how she challenged the role of a ghost. Bang reckons the difficulty how to channel the role since she can’t basically ask someone what a ghost can feel like. She expounds how she banked on her reactions since she’s supposed to be in another realm and that she cannot move as she pleases in the mortal world.

Kim Min Seok – A Strong Supporter of The Ghost Taxi Service

Returning to a new doctor role since Doctors, Kim Min Seok plays Do Gyu-jin, a reliable ER doctor at Daehun Hospital. He is faithful to his colleagues, friendly to his patients, a doctor with perfect specs, and a strong supporter of Young-Min and Ji-Hyun.

Detailing his character, Kim shared that Gyu-jin looks
cynical, but he is a warm-hearted doctor who works hard for his patients.

Echoing his co-stars’ reason for joining the series, he also agrees to the fun script. He was also looking forward to how the different elements of the story would be mixed together in Delivery Man.

He adds that he belive the director as he explained and talked about his role did not care much about the quantity of his screen time.

For his role, he delineates how he channeled the experience he has gained since playing a doctor role 7 years ago.

“At that time, I thought a lot about acting to show off and survive in this industry. For Delivery Man, I acted while thinking about how I would change when I took on the role. I acted while thinking about what it would be like if I were a doctor now.”

On that note, he shared how he brought life to Gyu-jin.

“Doctors in dramas are always angry, but when I go to the emergency room, the doctors are calm because it is their job. The goal was to mix the acting well in a dramatic way so that viewers can enjoy it while maintaining the usual tension.”

Director Kang mentions romance and healing are drawing points of the drama. She reveals the dram features a conversation with the person the ghost wants to meet for the last time.

Delivery Man will be broadcast for the first time on ENA on March 1st and will be broadcast every Wednesday and Thursday at 9:00 PM.
