In a recent interview, Ji Chang Wook shared he wanted to portray Gyeo-rye after becoming attached to the storyline and learning about the character’s distressing background. The actor said,

“I think I cried a lot when I first saw the script. The content of the dark and warm script touched my heart. And I was attracted to the character Gyeo-rye itself. I had a desire to express a very pessimistic and lonely character.”

Ji Chang Wook also sympathizes with the character, who suffers from the scars of his past.

“Yoon Gyeo-rye is a person who has a lot of reservations on people and looks at the world with a pessimistic perspective. There are some parts that are lacking, but I want to support and protect them.”

He worked on the set full of curiosity and excitement, aiming to act and express his feelings well.

“I had a lot of fun playing the character Yoon Gyeo-rye, and I worked more excitedly on the spot because I wanted to express it so much… It was very important for Gyeo-Rye to enter a hospice hospital and meet ‘Team Genie’ and change. I talked the most with the director about that part on the spot.”

In addition, the charming actor shares with the viewers how heartwarming the series will be.

“I hope you feel warm in the story of ‘Team Genie’, and the change of Yoon Gyeo-rye… “This series is a work that I enjoyed working on, which had a lot of laughing time. I hope that the warm energy from the field will be delivered to the viewers. “Please enjoy the show.”

Despite his character’s preconceived image of being dangerous, Gyeo-rye will also be able to show his warm side in the series. Expectations now are high on how this tough man will change through the people he will meet in the hospital.

You will soon witness a different side of actor Ji Chang Wook as the healing drama premieres its first episode on August 10!
