K-POP CONCERT RECAP: Super Junior Concludes Super Show 9 In Manila With The Perfect Christmas Present

What else can make a PH ELF’s weekend more memorable than seeing Super Junior for two consecutive days?

ELF’s (Ever Lasting Friends) energy is still on top as the second day of the Super Show 9: Road in Manila officially starts.

Loud cheers and the lights of the SuJu Bong in the shades of sapphire blue, green, pink, and yellow covered the entire SM Mall of Asia Arena on December 18, 2022.

It was undeniably magical as PH ELFs patiently wait for their favorite men to appear onstage and sweep them off their feet.

Finally, the arena’s light grew dimmer. Super Junior takes over the PH stage with “Burn The Floor,” followed by “The Crown.”

A fiery stage of “SUPER” continued the much-awaited concert event, then the members performed “Mr. Simple,” which made the crowd scream their hearts out even more.

Then, the members spread out on the extended stages, making ELFs more pumped up and excited.

After a quick break, Super Junior sang their second set of songs: “Ticky Tocky,” “Paradox,” and “Mystery.”

Then, a happy greeting ‘Mabuhay’ from Leeteuk captured the hearts of every fan in the arena. Each member shared some of their thoughts as the concert progresses.

Specifically, Shindong said that he was sad as it was already the last day of their concert in Manila.

Ryeowook told ELFs that he could not sleep the night before the concert and expressed how much he missed the fans.

Donghae, bringing his effortlessly humorous side, shared that he had a Mojito after the Day 1 concert.

Yesung promised that the ELFs would be driven crazy with joy throughout the show.

On the other hand, Siwon had a little game where, when he unplugged his in-ear monitor, everyone would scream. After hearing the fans’ passionate screams, the idol actor concluded that Manila is the best. He also asked how everyone is, especially the ones on the top part of the arena, showing off his sweetness.

Kyuhyun once again tried to communicate with fans in English. He had comically said he would give his sweat and that his sweat was delicious, leaving the audience burst out laughing.

After a series of comical banter and laughter, Eunhyuk tried to hide his teary eyes as he said that he was grateful that the Filipino ELFs patiently waited for them to return.

Then, Leeteuk mentioned how he liked the air in the Philippines, earning a refusal from fans as they point out that there is nothing good with the air. Leeteuk laughed at the constant objection, taking back what he said.

Super Junior is the perfect Christmas gift for PH ELFs

The show then continues with “2YAYAO.” After a couple of VCRs, Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, and Yesung reappeared onstage as Super Junior-K.R.Y in different outfits to serenade the fans with “I Can’t.”

They then proceeded with “My Wish,” “Callin’,” “and “Believe” as the sweetest icing on the cake.

Super Junior also performed “Celebrate,” their newest song that really suits the Christmas season.

Of course, a Super Junior concert will not be complete without a comical twist. The members show up onstage as the “Gods of Music,” cosplaying as famous classical music composers.

They performed “Spy,” “Mamacita,” and “Rokkugo” in a classical rendition, earning cheers and laughter from fans at the same time.

Siwon, Shindong, and Leeteuk then conquered the stage for “Latte.” The other members joined the trio onstage to perform “House Party,” “Everyday,” and “Wonder Boy,” getting closer to the fans through the extended stages.

Super Junior D&E then proved they are worthy of all great accolades as the duo performed “B.A.D” and “Danger.”

Reuniting with Donghae and Eunhyuk onstage, the members then performed their biggest hits “Black Suit,” “Sorry Sorry,” and “Bonamana.”

Super Junior promised to return to Manila in 2023

And just like that, the concert is about to end. The VCR of the members singing to “Analogue Radio” played on the LED screens before they returned onstage for “More Days With You” and “Walkin’.”

Truly, when you are experiencing the most anticipated moment of your life, time seems to fly by irritatingly fast.

But on a brighter note, Super Junior emphasized, “Let’s meet again in 2023.”

Siwon shared that ELF was his inspiration. Eunhyuk also mentioned that this year was one in which he missed someone he would never see again, but he was grateful to all Filipino fans for filling the void in his heart.

Leeteuk then noted that he loves to hear ELFs scream excitedly. And as a special Christmas gift, Super Junior performed “White Love.”

Kdramadiary would like to extend its gratitude to Pulp Live World for the media invites to the Super Junior World Tour – Super Show 9: Road in Manila Day 2.
