Aiming to provide nostalgia with an affectionate romance, Netflix affirms the lead cast of the Korean remake of Someday/One Day.
Netflix series A Time Called You is a time-travel romance that follows Jun-hee, who has been missing her partner since he died a year ago. She is then dragged back to 1998 by fate and meets Si-heon, who looks exactly like her boyfriend.
Based on the iconic 2019 Taiwanese drama, Someday/One Day, the series has amassed over a billion total views and garnered widespread interest upon the announcement of the remake. Similarly, it is a genre that evokes strong narratives, delicate visual beauty, and nostalgia, that is regarded as the standard of Taiwanese youth drama.
Accordingly, Ahn Hyo Seop (Abyss, Dr. Romantic 2, Business Proposal), has built a distinct elegance in a variety of genres. He will subsequently take the challenge of portraying two roles. He will portray Jun-hee’s boyfriend, Koo Yeon-joon, and the other as a boy in 1998 who resembles him.
From Yeon-joon’s pure love for Jun-hee for a long time to Si-heon, the actor will show a balance of youth with maturity in a way that piques viewers’ interest.
Travel Back In Time With Jeon Yeo Been
On the other hand, Jeon Yeo Been (Be Melodramatic, Vincenzo) has shown new characters in her recent projects. This time, she takes two roles as Han Jun-hee and Kwon Min-joo.
Jun-hee entered the body of Kwon Min-joo, living in 1998, with a time slip that coincidentally started. Notably, the actress will demonstrate her versatility as she portrays two characters with the same look but diametrically opposing personalities.
Deftly capturing everything, Jeon Yeo Bin will showcase the pain of losing a long-term lover to the shock and uncertainty of meeting a deceased boyfriend.
Lastly, Kang Hoon, a rising actor from the hit period series The Red Sleeve, continues his unstoppable move by transforming into Jung In-kyu.
Jung In-kyu is a person who recognizes the tension between friendship and love as Min-joo. The girl he likes harbors affection for his best friend Si-heon. Kang Hoon intends to excite women’s hearts with an 18-year-old boy’s new and pure love.
Director Kim Jin Won (My Country: The New Age, Rain or Shine, Wonderful Days) and writer Choi Hyo Bi will work on the production of the series.
Moreover, it will be produced by NPO Entertainment, Lian Contents, and Studio Flow, which also produced The Red Sleeve and Forecasting Love and Weather.
Set between 1998 and 2023, the series promises to show the young and vibrant friendship and love of 18-year-olds from different eras.
Meanwhile, A Time Called You will be released exclusively on Netflix.
