Following the batch of K-content released on Disney+, Big Mouse, Lee Jong Suk’s comeback drama, is slated to be part of the platform’s content this year.

This is part of Disney’s 2022 Korean content lineup. Accordingly, over 20 Korean content will be sequentially released, including at least 12 originals this year.

Currently, Disney+ is airing Grid and Rookie Cops with Soundtrack #1 slated to premiere this month. Previously, the streaming platform wrapped up the period series, Snowdrop.

Jessica Kam-Engle, Head of Content and Development, Asia Pacific, The Walt Disney Company expressed Disney+ aims to further expand its presence in the region.

“We are thrilled to present outstanding Korean content that will captivate viewers around the world. Thus, we are concentrating on discovering stories with great cultural influence. As a long-term creative partner, Disney will continue to showcase the world’s best stories, including local content, by partnering with some of the best creators in the Asia Pacific region.”

Big Mouse narrates the story of a lawyer with a win rate of 10% who gets caught up in a murder case. He accidentally becomes a rare genius con artist ‘Big Mouse’ overnight.

The series digs into the true face of the privileged class, which is stained by a huge conspiracy. Accordingly, the drama would also show the struggles of a lawyer who came from a lower middle class and needs to go out of his comfort zone to protect himself and his family.

Actors Lee Jong Suk and Im Yoona collaborate together for the first time in this project.

In the drama, Lee Jong Suk plays the role of Park Chang-ho. Many people call him “big mouth” because he only talks resplendently but has no sense at all.

Moreover, being a third-rate lawyer, he has a hard time paying his monthly rent for his office along with his office manager who is also his father-in-law.

Chang-ho is married to Ko Mi-Ho (Im Yoona), who inspires him to be a lawyer. Mi-Ho who is sophisticated during her college days turns into a fearless and foul-mouthed woman.

In charge of the production is PD On Chung-hwan of Hotel Del Luna, Start-Up and While You Were Sleeping fame. Penning the script is rookie writer Haram with creators Jang YoungCheol and Jeong Kyung-sun participating in the work together.

Big Mouse airs simultaneously on Disney+ and domestic channel MBC.
