Jang Ki Yong and Ahn Eun Jin Deliver Heart-Racing Chemistry at the Script Reading of “Dynamite Kiss”

The wait for a new swoon-worthy romance is almost over. SBS’s new Wednesday–Thursday drama, Dynamite Kiss, is set to premiere on November 12, promising a blend of laughter, longing, and the kind of romance that leaves viewers smiling long after the credits roll.

The production team recently revealed scenes from the drama’s script reading, and fans can already feel the sparks flying between the leads, Jang Ki Yong and Ahn Eun Jin.

Dynamite Kiss is a bittersweet romantic story about two people who meet under unusual circumstances and find themselves caught between love, deception, and emotional healing. The series follows Go Da-rim (Ahn Eun Jin), a single woman struggling to make ends meet who pretends to be a married mother to secure a stable job. Her world collides with Gong Ji-hyeok (Jang Ki Yong), a reserved team leader who has long given up on love—until Da-rim’s warmth and honesty slowly break through his guarded heart. Their unexpected relationship, born out of lies but shaped by truth and emotion, explores the complexity of modern love, resilience, and the search for happiness in difficult times.

The script reading, held on October 2, marked the official start of the drama’s journey. The event was attended by Director Kim Jae-hyun, writers Ha Yoon-ah and Tae Kyung-min, and main cast members Jang Ki Yong, Ahn Eun Jin, Kim Moo Joon, and Woo Da-vi. From the very first lines, the room was filled with laughter, emotion, and palpable excitement, signaling a production brimming with chemistry and creative energy.

Jang Ki Yong, who returns to the small screen after captivating audiences in Now, We Are Breaking Up and My Roommate Is a Gumiho, fully embodied the dual charm of Gong Ji-hyeok—a man who hides his broken heart behind a stoic exterior. During the reading, he seamlessly transitioned between moments of cool detachment and tender vulnerability, revealing the emotional scars that define his character. His commanding presence, deep voice, and piercing gaze heightened the romantic tension in every scene, proving once again why he’s one of the most compelling leading men of his generation.

Opposite him, Ahn Eun Jin brought a burst of sunshine and sincerity to Go Da-rim, a character who balances life’s hardships with unshakable optimism. Having earned widespread acclaim for her roles in My Dearest and The Good Bad Mother, Ahn captured Da-rim’s inner strength and warmth, portraying her as a woman who refuses to give up on herself, her dreams, or love. Her lively energy, expressive tone, and natural chemistry with Jang Ki-yong filled the room, turning every line exchange into a captivating rhythm of emotions.

Supporting actors Kim Moo-joon and Woo Da-vi also added depth to the ensemble, delivering dynamic performances that enhanced the drama’s emotional palette. Together, the cast’s teamwork and chemistry created a lively, heartfelt atmosphere that mirrored the show’s central themes of connection, longing, and rediscovery.

Director Kim Jae-hyun, known for his deft touch with romance and emotional storytelling, praised the cast’s synergy, saying that their performances brought warmth and authenticity to the script. Writers Ha Yoon-ah and Tae Kyung-min emphasized that “Dynamite Kiss” aims to capture “the delicate balance between laughter and tears, between love that hurts and love that heals.”

Featuring a touching storyline, a star-studded cast, and undeniable chemistry between Jang Ki Yong and Ahn Eun Jin, Dynamite Kiss is already being hailed as a return to form for SBS’s beloved weekday romance lineup. The drama promises a sensory experience filled with humor, nostalgia, and heart-pounding moments that will keep viewers hooked until the very end.
