Park Hyung Sik transforms into a smart and honest detective in the violent crime squad in TVING drama, Happiness!

Marking his post-military drama comeback, the talented actor is seen fully immersed in his role. Overflowing with his usual charming presence, his deep gaze amplifies expectations of his latest character.

Happiness depicts the lives of people isolated in high-rise apartments where a miniature version of hierarchial society occurs. The fierce class discrimination and psychological warfare for survival emerge as an infectious disease hits the city. In a space where daily life collapses and existing values ​​sway, the realistic fear of doubting and guarding each other would be drawn in the story.

Raising expectations, not just for its starring actors, Happiness boasts acclaimed showrunners with proven hitmaking status. Helming the project is Director Ahn Gil Ho whose popular works include Record of Youth, Memories of the Alhambra, and Stranger. He will reunite with writer Han Sang Woon since their collaboration on Watcher. The screenwriter also wrote The Good Wife and Spy.

Earlier, a quick video on the first script reading was also unveiled showing the synergy of the cast.


Park Hyung Sik as Jung Yi Hyun

In the drama, Park Hyung Sik portrays seasoned detective Jung Yi-hyun. He used to be a promising baseball ace pitcher, but he changed his career due to an unexpected injury. The released character stills today shows Yi-hyun at the crime scene, deeply assessing the situation while searching for pieces of evidence. His demeanor reflects tenacity and sharp intuition as his eyes twinkle, hinting he succeeded in what he was looking for.

Another photo shows him aiming a gun at someone. Unlike his calm stance when solving problems, his serious and sharp-looking face filled with rage raises curiosity. Having a strong sense of duty, Yi-hyun struggles at the expense of himself to protect the public in extreme situations where he risks his life.

With a looming infectious disease that has shaken everyone’s life, it raises attention as to how he executes his responsibility and his own survival.

Park Hyung Sik shared how his character’s motivation is different and fresh. He also prepared well by developing his physique and working on the action scenes. Realizing his newest character has had him put a lot of effort.

“He is a person with both warmth and coolness. Sometimes he’s simple, but sometimes he has a sharp insight. If we assess him into good and evil, I still think of him as a friend who opts to do good.”

Happiness will be released on TVING and tvN at 10:40 pm on November 5.
