Cameras are ready to roll for tvN’s highly-anticipated series, Happiness!
tvN’s upcoming offering has confirmed the appearances of Han Hyo Joo, Park Hyung Sik, and Jo Woo Jin.
Taking an apocalyptic tone, Happiness depicts the lives of people isolated in high-rise apartments where a miniature version of hierarchal society occurs.
The fierce class discrimination and psychological warfare for survival emerge as an infectious disease hits the city. In a space where daily life collapses and existing values sway, the realistic fear of doubting and guarding each other would be drawn in the story.
Dream Cast & Showrunners
Raising expectations, not just for its starring actors, Happiness boasts acclaimed showrunners with proven hitmaking status. Helming the project is Director Ahn Gil Ho whose popular works include Record of Youth, Memories of the Alhambra, and Stranger. He will reunite with writer Han Sang Woon since their collaboration on Watcher. The screenwriter also wrote The Good Wife and Spy.
Han Hyo Joo takes the role of Yoon Sae-bom, a tactical agent in the police command. Suiting up to the role of clever and honest homicide detective Jung Yi Hyun is actor Park Hyung Sik. Lastly, Jo Woo Jin portrays Han Tae-suk, a lieutenant colonel of the police medical command who holds the key to the infectious disease situation.
Breaking her small-screen hiatus since W: Two Worlds, top-tier actress Han Hyo Joo goes for a busy year with two films underway this season. Likewise, Park Hyung Sik seals his post-military project with Happiness. His last dramas were Suits and Strong Woman Do Bong Soon.
The production crew of Happiness said, “Happiness traverses on human desires and discrimination between classes in the background of an apartment where people with various personalities and desires live. In these days when the preciousness of everyday life is felt, it provides realistic views.”
