Dark and inexplicable situations test the mettle of the main leads of Jirisan.

The upcoming iQiyi Original series unveiled a picture of the forest in a murky vibe as a shadow emerged in the scene.

Starring Gianna Jun and Ju Ji-hoon, and created by director Lee Eung-bok (Descendants of The Sun, Guardian: The Lonely and Great God) and writer Kim Eun-hee (Signal, Kingdom), Jirisan sets its premiere globally and exclusively on iQiyi on October 23rd and simulcast with Korea.

Heightening the viewers’ anticipation, Jirisan released a teaser poster that shows a worn and torn national park ranger jacket seemingly floating in the water and a mysterious figure amidst the forest.

Previously, intriguing teasers have gradually been unveiled hinting at unspeakable secrets shrouding Mount Jiri.

In the latest reveal, a national park ranger’s jacket appears in terrible condition. It further suggests the team of Gianna Jun, Ju Ji-hoon and more are up for a veiled plight deep in the forest. The poster’s tagline translates as, “The place where you meet the sky between life and death”. It implies unknown forces behind the mysteries and secrets of Jirisan.

According to writer Kim Eun-hee, Jirisan is a mysterious and extraordinary story that brings hope, despair, and urgency. In Korea’s long history, Kim shares that Jirisan is the mountain that carries much pain and sorrow. Yet it is also “Mother Mountain” where many fugitives have hidden to survive.

“Jirisan is not an ordinary mountain. It’s a mountain of hope, despair, and urgency. People who stayed in Jirisan have said that there’s something beyond explanation.”

Jirisan narrates stories of an experienced national park ranger (played by Gianna Jun) and a rookie ranger (played by Ju Ji-hoon) as they unearth the secrets of the mountain.

The iQiyi Original K-series will exclusively simulcast with Korea on October 23rd on iQiyi International app or iQ.com worldwide.
