Park Jin Young and Kim Min Ju Reignite First Love in JTBC’s New Drama “Shining”

First love comes full circle in JTBC’s upcoming drama Shining, a tender story about two people who once shared their own universe—and become the guiding light in each other’s lives once again.

With Director Kim Yun-jin (Our Beloved Summer; Tell Me That You Love Me) joining forces with writer Lee Sook-yeon (One Fine Spring Day; On the Way to the Airport), expectations are already soaring. The leads? Park Jinyoung and Kim Min Ju, stepping into a romance built on memory, longing, and quiet hope.

Park Jinyoung stars as Yeon Tae-seo, a subway driver with a sharp understanding of the world but a heart he keeps carefully hidden. Living strictly in the present, he tries not to dream too far ahead. After finally gaining independence and settling into his routine, his world shifts when he reunites with Mo Eun-ah, the girl who stole his heart at nineteen. Beneath Tae-seo’s steady, stoic exterior lies a deep well of emotions—something Park Jin-young is set to portray with nuance.

Opposite him, Kim Min Ju plays Mo Eun-ah, Tae-seo’s first love. Once a hotelier and now a Seoul lodging manager, Eun-ah is passionate, warm, and endlessly endearing. She’s someone who sets her own milestones, embraces small joys, and picks herself up after life’s bigger failures. Her reunion with Tae-seo becomes a turning point, reigniting memories of a love she once lost and prompting her to navigate what she truly wants from life.

Together, Tae-seo and Eun-ah carry the emotional tapestry of Shining—from youthful innocence during a summer at nineteen to the deeper, more complicated feelings of adulthood. Viewers are already eager to see how their shared past shapes their present and what new paths their renewed connection will illuminate.

Shining premieres March 2026, ready to melt hearts with a story about first love rediscovered and the light it brings.
