Kim Ji Eun takes on a role in espionage-action series!
Notching a role in the main cast of highly-anticipated series Black Sun, the actress will work alongside lauded actor Namgoong Min.
Black Sun is the winner of the 2018 MBC drama screenplay competition written by Park Seok Ho. It will be produced by MBC and Wavve investing 15 billion won for its 12-episode run. At the helm of the project is Director Kim Sung Yong of My Healing Love and Flowers of the Prison fame.
In Black Sun, Namgoong Min takes the role of a skilled NIS agent who disappeared and returns to the organization to find an internal traitor who betrayed and pushed him to hell.
First Lead Role For Kim Ji Eun
Meanwhile, Kim Ji Eun portrays the role of Namgoong Min’s partner Yoo Jae Yi, a field agent who has a promising future in the National Intelligence Service.
Expressing eagerness for her latest project, Kim Ji Eun promises to work hard for the series.
“I am thrilled to be able to share such a meaningful work with the brilliant director and production team, and I want to go to the set quickly. It is a great honor to be able to work with good seniors and fellow actors. Thanks to that, I think I will be able to spend my time this year with this gift,” she said.
Previously, the actress appeared on series, Strangers from Hell and film Long Live The King. Both Namgoong Min and Kim Ji Eun starred in acclaimed series, Doctor Prisoner.
