“Revenant” Starring Kim Tae Ri and Oh Jung Se Reveals First Look With Unleashed Teaser Poster

Revenant

Billed as a Korean-style occult mystery drama, Revenant readies to mark its premiere in June.

With its strong creative team and reliable actors onboard, the series expects a keen following from K-Drama viewers. The series is penned by Kim Eun Hee whose portfolio boasts acclaimed and fan-favorite dramas including Sign, Phantom, Signal, Kingdom, and Jirisan. Leading the project is director Lee Jung Rim of VIP fame.

In Revenant, a woman who is possessed by a demon, and a man who can see the demon investigate a cryptic death.

After her estranged father dies under mysterious circumstances, Gu San-young (Kim Tae Ri) will partner with Yeom Hae-sang (Oh Jung Se), a folklore professor who has the ability to see the dead, in an attempt to break the curse that has ruined both of their families.

Rounding up the lead cast is Hong Kyung who portrays detective Lee Hong-sae, who tracks down a mysterious death.

Vaunting a prelude to the series, the initial poster released today evokes a gloomy and eerie vibe.

It shows two hands in an abyss-like background with numerous unknown hands seemingly controlling the two hands. In particular, the text on the poster presents a contrasting statement: “I killed a person. No, it was not me.” This hints at a baffling murder case that will occur due to the “revenant”.

The production crew gives insights into the series and invites viewers to anticipate its launch.

Revenant in the dictionary means a wicked ghost, but it also refers to a person who acts viciously. As such, the drama Goblin is a story about dealing with an unknown spirit and at the same time a story about a person. The teaser poster, announcing the beginning of Revenant, embodies the theme of these works in images. It will be an all-in-one story that contains all the messages hidden behind the narrative. We would like to ask for your anticipation and interest in the Korean occult mystery Revenant, which will be created by writer Kim Eun-hee.”

Revenant will be broadcast for the first time at 10:00 pm on Friday, June 23.
