“The Heavenly Idol” Cranks Up Drama Promotion With Released Table-Read Moments

Slated for February 15 release on tvN, The Heavenly Idol activates excitement for viewers awaiting its premiere.

The Heavenly Idol is a fantasy-romance drama about a god of another world possessed by the body of an unknown idol. It is based on a popular novel (Holy Idol LT) that has since been adapted into a webtoon owing to the love received from fans.

Suiting up to the titular role, Kim Min Kyu portrays Lembrary, after a battle with the demon king, he wakes up inside the body of a handsome idol named Woo Yeon-woo.

K-Drama fans can look forward to the comedy of the story since a “holy god” is supposed to adapt to an idol life. Interestingly, avid Kim Min Kyu fans know that he can sing well, thus, making his new role worth checking out.

For the drama adaptation, romance will be inserted to elevate the charming points of the original work. Inevitably, Kim’s acting transformation anticipates heart-fluttering moments for viewers.

Promising a colorful story, the production team assures unique characters that would provide laughter, excitement and even tension.

Notably, Sacred Idol is Kim Min Kyu’s last work before enlisting in the military service.


Characters To Look Forward In Sacred Idol

At the script reading, Kim boasted a 100% synchrony rate as if taken out exactly from the pages of the webtoon. Expressing the entertaining situation of the high priest who suddenly became a member of Wild Animal, an unknown idol group, the actor effortlessly drew pleasant energy.

Go Bo Gyeol, who plays the role of Kim Dal, a manager of Wild Animal and a fan of Woo Yeon-woo, raised the level of immersion by comically and cutely coping with the chaotic situation in which his favorite idol has become a different person. At the same time, she lovingly captures the image of a passionate fan who cares for him, raising expectations for her passionate performance.

More importantly, Kim Min Kyu and Go Bo Gyeol properly exploded the perfect chemistry between an unknown idol and his fan.

Meanwhile, Lee Jang Woo, plays the role of Shin Jo-woon, vice chairman of Korea’s largest comprehensive entertainment company. He is possessed by Lumena, the demon king of this world, and predicts a bold-acting transformation different from his previous works.

The actor overwhelms the crowd with his cool and dark charisma, raising expectations for a new look he will show.

Next, Ye Ji Won shows off her chameleon presence as the representative of the agency of the group Wild Animal. She is sketched to be a passionate career woman determined to do anything for the idol group.

Accordingly, actors Hong Seung Beom, Choi Jae Hyun, Shin Myung Seong and Shin Kyu Hyeon will be portraying Wild Animal members. Rounding up the main cast are Tak Jae Hoon, Lee Woo Tae, Baek Seo Bin and Park Sang Nam.

The Heavenly Idol premieres on February 15 on tvN.
