MBC’s upcoming historical drama, The Forbidden Marriage, releases a quick look at never-before-seen photos of Park Ju Hyun’s character.
Promising to add another delightful sageuk, The Forbidden Marriage explores the marriage ban ordered by King Yi Heon when he lost the crown princess seven years ago.
Based on a novel of the same name, the series follows the story of So-rang (Park Ju Hyun), who unexpectedly enters the palace. Together with Lee Heon (Kim Young Dae) and Lee Shin-won (Kim Woo Seok), they became inseparable, heightening curiosity as to why they got intertwined.

Shortly after releasing previous teasers revealing intriguing characters, The Forbidden Marriage further unveils sneak peeks of So-rang.

The elements added in graffiti by citizens who oppose the golden spirit draw interest in the teaser poster released. Furthermore, you can see a blue lantern on the upper left side, indicating when someone is secretly getting married. This makes it clear that love is unstoppable.
The production team also shared their thoughts on the said poster.
“We wanted to depict a different view of history unlike past what other historical dramas offered. Please keep an eye on So-rang hung as a wanted criminal on the teaser poster, Deok-hoon (Lee Jun hyun), Wang-bae (Kim Min-seok), and Jeong Do-seok (Hong Si-young) of The Forbidden Marriage.”
Revealing more featured images from the show, the first image shows So-rang looking directly at King Lee Heon. This stirs intrigue about their relationship as if they have equal power despite differing positions. In another photo, So-rang and Lee Heon appear serious and you can sense mysterious energy between them.
Another photo unveiled by The Forbidden Marriage shows So-rang in various costumes showcasing a captivating view that gives you a bubbly feeling just by looking at it.
Park Ju Hyun also expressed her thoughts about So-rang and highlighted her aim to maximize the character’s charm.
“She is a friend with a strong personality with the interesting qualities of possessiveness, compatibility, and con artist within the historical drama genre.”
The Forbidden Marriage is set to premiere on December 9 on MBC.
