Woo Do Hwan, Kim Ji Yeon and Cha Hak Yeon To Headline MBC’s New Fusion Historical Drama

Featuring an attractive story sketch, MBC announces the casting and details of its upcoming sageuk series.

조선변호사 Joseon Lawyer (LT) tells the story of a lawyer on a mission to take revenge on an enemy that killed his parents. From revenge, it will highlight his growth as a champion of justice who defends people.

As Joseon-set dramas usually feature palace stories, this new MBC drama would focus on the story of the lawyer in the Joseon era.

Confirmed to lead Joseon Lawyer are Woo Do Hwan, Kim Ji Yeon (Bona) and Cha Hak Yeon.

In the drama, Woo Do Hwan takes the role of Kang Han-soo, a lawyer with unrivaled charisma. The actor has established himself with phenomenal portrayals in dramas Save Me, Mad Dog, My Country and The King: Eternal Monarch.

Next, Kim Ji Yeon, who recently fascinated viewers with his role in Twenty Five TwentyOne, suits up for her first female lead role as Lee Yeon-ju. The latter is a princess who genuinely cares for the country and the people. While hiding her true identity, she harbors romance that is deemed impossible to happen.

Impressing viewers with his recent roles in Bad and Crazy and Mine, Cha Hak Yeon plays the role of Yoo Ji-sun from Joseon’s most prestigious family. He is a person who strives for fair judgment and has a dream that cannot be achieved due to the gap between ideals and reality.

Cameras are soon set to roll in Joseon Lawyer which is slated for broadcast in the first half of 2023.
