K-Drama Catch-Up: Kim Yo Han Begins Sweetly Warming Up To So Joo Yeon In “A Love So Beautiful”

The latest episodes of A Love So Beautiful prove that there’s nothing that jealousy can affirm in terms of finding out what the heart really feels.

When it gets layered to blossoming love, it feels extra endearing like how we are seeing it in A Love So Beautiful. Our diligent female lead is oblivious of the fact that her feelings with Cha Heon has reached a mutual point. Definitely, we can’t wait for Cha Heon to parade his affection in his own special way.

Episodes 5 to 8 Highlights

Sol-yi’s Young Love

By now, we are familiar to Shin Sol-yi’s (So Joo Yeon) adoration to Cha Heon (Kim Yo Han). Living in the same apartment, they have been friends since they were young. Naturally, they also attended the same school.

In contrast to to Sol-yi’s perception that she one-sidedly likes Cha Heon, the latter seems to care as much as she does.

Episodes 5 to 8 of A Love So Beautiful have also highlighted the cemented friendship circle of Sol-yi, Heon, Dae-sung, Ha-young and Jin-hwan. They even spent a spontaneous overnight trip to support Jin-hwan’s audition.

In the drama fest event, Sol-yi encounters another down moment which even made her intentionally ignore Cha Heon for not giving the proper support system she yearned.

But that is because he also can’t process the uncomfortable feeling he confronts whenever he sees Dae-sung all chummy with her. As he gotten used to Sol-yi’s attention focused on him only, he resorts to lamely retaliates.

Cha Heon’s Source of Small Joys

Sweetly chased by Sol-yi’s presence for almost all his life, Cha Heon has grown accustomed to her attention. That his mood easily turns sour sensing another boy treats Sol-yi with extra care.

In the latest chapters of the series, we see Cha Heon hesitating a lot of times in communicating with Sol-yi. But when he learned of her plead to her parents of transferring, he tells her to stay.

That moment is a turning point to Heon’s vague score of what Sol-yi really is to him. Dae-sung’s obvious doting of Sol-yi really gets to Heon’s nerve and he can’t respond to the unfamiliar situation about Sol-yi accordingly.

A little prodding from Ha-young of how he has always been the center of Sol-yi’s universe made him spend time celebrating his favorite girl’s birthday. A long-awaited wish that only he can give Sol-yi.

A Love So Beautiful Episodes 5 to 8 Musings

Just as Heon and Sol-yi’s young romance move to a clearer direction, Dae-sung’s affection also starts mixing in to the expected love triangle in the drama. Like what I said in my previous recap, A Love So Beautiful is a charming treat, but it still can’t reach that addicting level because you tend to crave for more, but the episode won’t run any further.

But based on its trajectory, the love narrative is expected to be heightened. It’s up to Heon and Sol-yi’s on-screen chemistry to seal the deal. I honestly struggled to prolong my ramblings about the series. But there’s really not much to call out for improvement and nothing spectacularly fascinating to rave on.

It still is a refreshing watch perfect for when you just want to rest and lounge.
