Yeo Joon, Kim So Bin, and Nam Soo Hyun found their “safety zones” in recent episodes of At A Distance Spring Is Green.
The lead characters of At The Distance Spring Is Green finally took one step to know more about each other. Yeo Joon’s (Park Ji Hoon) warm personality melts So Bin’s (Kang Min Ah), and Soo Hyun’s (Bae In Hyuk) doubts. They all helped one another to realize and conquer their weaknesses.

At A Distance Spring Is Green Episodes 5&6 Key Moments
“But I think of my brother whenever I see you, and it hurts me.”
While Yeo Joon went out to pay for his friend’s drinks, he got a call from Soo Hyun. He’s surprised that Soo Hyun called him and asked him to eat dinner. Yeo Joon showed his determination in befriending Nam Soo Hyun. Even though he put effort into getting to know Soo Hyun, his sunbae still pushes him away.
When he arrived at the location, Yeo Joon looks puzzled. Instead of eating dinner with Soo Hyun, his dinner is served by him.
He witnesses how his sunbae works hard and doesn’t receive respect from customers and his employer.
Furthermore, Soo Hyun finally explains his reasons for calling Yeo Joon. For him, Yeo Joon made him realize how life is unfair.
Yeo Joon made him feel that life is easy. No matter how Soo Hyun works hard, he can’t seem to achieve the life he wants to give to his brother.
“You always mean what you say. I prefer this rather than being left with hope.”
He showed his cold appearance to Soo Hyun and stopped clinging to him. On the other hand, Soo Hyun didn’t expect Yeo Joon’s reaction and realized something. Soo Hyun’s confession left Yeo Joon heartbroken. He recalls how he hopes and expects his family to return his affections.
Yeo Joon, who is wounded by Soo Hyun’s words, still worries about Soo Hyun’s condition. He once again how Soo Hyun receives cruel words from his new employer.
“Just because you’re happy doesn’t mean I’m happy.”
He found himself following Soo Hyun. He saw his sunbae crying in the sauna he’s staying in. Soo Hyun noticed him and also followed him outside.
Even though Yeo Joon is afraid of opening up to others, he always craves genuine relationships. In the end, Yeo Joon left Soo Hyun and returns to his “safety zone.”
The principled Nam Soo Hyun apologized for what he did. With the amount of time with each other, Soo Hyun knows that Yeo Joon doesn’t mean what he said.
“How about you? Are you curious about me?”
So Bin’s childhood friend and crush have confronted her “boyfriend,” Yeo Joon. Chan Ki still hasn’t approved their relationship and shared So Bin’s likes and dislikes. As Yeo Joon and Soo Hyun create a brotherly quarrel, So Bin and Yeo Joon also has their misunderstandings.
Because of the scene, they created, So Bin became the “leading lady in the Open-air Theatre Battle. Rumors are spreading about Yeo Joon’s and So Bin’s relationship.
Now that she is linked with the campus crush, Yeo Joon, she became the center of attention. Unlike Yeo Joon, So Bin feels uncomfortable with the attention she gets.
Because of that, her wounds start to open and blames Yeo Joon. She thought he spread their “relationship” and wants to stop being “curious” about Yeo Joon.
Again, Yeo Joon also blames himself for making other’s life miserable. He then tries to distance himself from So Bin and Yeo Joon and left their research team.
While he’s with his “friends,” he feels safe because no one wants to know him. But the soft-hearted So Bin feels guilty of what she said to Yeo Joon.
“The meaning of the flower is what I feel.”
His anger melts away when he read the meaning; eternal love and forgiveness. So Bin goes back and obliges Soo Hyun’s favor to ask Yeo Joon to come back to their research team. So Bin wants to pick a thorn from her heart and bought a hyacinth flower as a way of apologizing. Yeo Joon quickly accepts her apology and warmly searches for the meaning of the flower.
Now that So Bin and Yeo Joon reconciled, he notices that So Bin feels uncomfortable in crowded places. With the information he got from Chan Ki, he tries to help So Bin to conquer her fears.
Yeo Joon brought So Bin to her old elementary school and listen to her backstory. Eventually, So Bin opens up to him and also goes bungee jumping with him.
Finally, the three of them reunited and presents their research project. Their other “stressful” group member tries to ruin their presentation.
So Bin once again puts in an uncomfortable situation on their presentation. Yeo Joon gives a reassuring look and hopes for So Bin to overcome her anxieties.
So Bin leaps and they all aced their research presentation. With that, their relationship steps one foot further. Surprisingly, Soo Hyun becomes more relaxed around them and starts showing his smiles to them.
To celebrate their achievement, So Bin and Yeo Joon are left to treat themselves. They got alone time and their fondness for each other grew and grew.
Yeo Joon also takes another step “closer” and opens his feelings to So Bin.
At A Distance Spring Is Green Episodes 5 & 6 Musings
The character development of the lead casts is synergized well. Although they have different backstories, they all want to conquer their fears.
At A Distance Spring Is Green also narrates realistic love stories of youth. It shows how one can create or break because of love.
Yeo Joon’s cold brother also unveils his love for his brother. He tries to push away Yeo Joon to protect him from their strict parents.
Though his character is not clear, he has his way of showing affection to Yeo Joon. I hope his reason for that is to save Yeo Joon from being like him.
The recent episode has also shown the love and hate relationship they created. All of them try to believe in trusting again.
In addition, it pilots the plot of the story. Like a spring, they have their season to wither and bloom beautifully again.
