“Who the hell puts a knife to somebody’s thigh just because he’s not getting the money that he wants? Sounds like something only lowlife bums would do.”

Showing his loyalty to Mr. Min, Moo-sik drinks down the bottle Mr. Woo offered him. Proving he is ready to give his life for Mr. Min, Mr. Woo backs off.

For a decade, Moo-sik builds his success by running the casino with Mr. Min. He builds good relations with notable figures in Philippine politics and even sponsors meetings for them.

He even meets the dubbed god of gambling in the country, but with the change of administration, Moo-sik moves to Caliz in 2015.

Adding to his reasons for moving is his meeting with the consul who was hunting him down for his assault case back when he used to collect the bonds of Mr. Min in Korea.

“Nothing’s impossible nowadays.”

Eyeing the bid for Bolton, Moo-sik forces his way through. Despite not being able to enter the bid, he still finds his way to acquire it and makes it prosperous even though it just opened.

Jung-pal pursues So-jung with sincerity and even asks for help from Moo-sik for her transfer to their hotel. However, she chooses Philip and grabs the chance to get close to Ms. Ko, CEO of Pastella.

Losing his money, Professor Na becomes an agent and introduces Mr. Jeong to Moo-sik. Sizing up Mr. Jeong, Moo-sik makes his moves in luring him into becoming a gambler in their casino.

Big Bet Episodes 4 and 5 Musings

From the recent episodes, both countries’ issues in politics can be recognized. Regardless of the place, there would always be prominent bribable figures.

When it comes to money, people could be profiled just as Moo-sik screens who his agents bring into their casino. Just as how he sized up Mr. Jeong, Moo-sik’s narration highlights how an influential person could be easily baited into gambling.

Reaching success after success in another location seems all great for Moo-sik, but at the same time, an incoming ominous feeling can also be sensed.

Building a darker atmosphere, Jung-pal, whose love pursuit failed, has not yet shown any violent reaction to it. However, it feels as though danger is also likely for Philip and So-jung.

Though Yoon-gi works for the embassy, he appears to have tarnished his position also with his affiliations. Now that Seung-hun has met with him, we can look forward to how their cooperation will pan out in the story.
