Seo In Guk and Park Bo Young Exchange “Love Me” Offers In “Doom At Your Service” Episodes 5 & 6

Doom At Your Service had viewers fell hook, line, and sinker in its narrative course – willingly and with justified reasons!

Advancing to the plot point where the supernatural and power of love elements collide, the series anticipates heavier emotions going to the second half of the series.

Doom At Your Service Episodes 5 & 6 Key Moments

“The guy from earlier is going to die. You saw how I killed him. So don’t sacrifice yourself for me for no specific reason. I’m just not worth it.”

After subduing the rage-driven murderer, Myul-mang cites it as an example to Dong-kyung that it’s impossible to love him because people can only want, hate or fear him.

Chiding on her fearless action when she’s already dying, she responds how she did it out of her own will. Their conversation gets interrupted by dejected-looking Sun-kyung who learned about his sister’s condition. Sun-kung continues to bawl inside the car worrying about his sister. He also accepts Myul-mang as his brother-in-law for staying by her side even when she’s sick.

At night, Dong-kyung sees the news of the murderer eventually dying and figures the deity has reasons for his actions to which he denies. Myul-mang ponders to his earlier action with his friend deity questioning why he protected Dong-kyung.

“Most of the things that disappear are beautiful.”

Perplexed with new ideas he has been getting through his interaction with Dong-kyung, Myul-mang agrees to her suggestion of studying human moods and emotions in the hopes of understanding Dong-kyung’s actions.

Interestingly, Myul-mang has also been fusing himself to Dong-kyung’s trivial and essential life routines. Through the deity’s power, he can assume any person’s role that would be in contact with her. He often joins her at work and work-related meetings.

An earnest learner of Dong-kyung’s mood, he comes in handy to find the spot where she can sit in the subway during rush hour. He can also bring her to her comfort place at will.

“Love me. Love me if you can. That wouldn’t be such a bad idea either. So, be the first human to love me.”

Just as he enforces his presence to Dong-kyung, she also wants to be part of his life by going together to perform his task. Asking her to be the first human to love him, she denies it since it all boils down to him wanting to die and not his claim that he wants to save him.

She made it clear that seeing him vanish won’t make her happy – that she does not want to stay alive, but wants to live a happy life. Still, Myul-mang pesters her to commit to loving him so he can learn the process.

“I have a wish. I want you to love me. Can I wish for that too?”

While Dong-kyung confronts a problem with a wayward young writer, Na Ji Na also faces her long-running love frustrations. Meeting her first love still put her in an impasse especially since something nags about her connection with her first kiss.

Myul-mang waits for Dong-kyung as the rain pours at a bus stop. Holding her hand, he leads her to run amidst the pouring rain. When he finally listened to her pleas to stop, she tells him that she has a wish and if it’s possible her wish for him to love her can be granted.

Responding no, he gazes at her drenched face and inches closer to her for a heart-stopping kiss, but then he suddenly vanished.

Doom At Your Service Episodes 5 & 6 Musings

It could be because we are racing to Dong-kyung’s counted days, but Doom At Your Service really drifts to a fast pace. Having the conflict-centered to Dong-kyung’s survival, I can’t help but wish a villain can emerge to become a variable in the story. So when the goddess doing the opposite of what Myul-mang does, hinted disappointment to the chaos-creation balance with a foreboding statement, it kinda scared me.

The preview to the next episodes suggests the beginning of a fate-defying mission involving Dong-kyung and Myul-mang. If the brief teaser already made me sad, I have to prepare for the emotional worst. I still want more of those close proximity and heart-fluttering moments of Seo In Guk and Park Bo Young. The two really look good onscreen. Below are photos proving my point.

We went to a battle of vague thoughts in this week’s episodes with our main leads groping for the right words to describe what they feel for each other. I’m not sure if it’s because of the disappointments I got from the dramas I so far rooted this year, but I had to check the writer’s portfolio again to calm my K-Drama fan heart. Thus, I can understand the faint indecisiveness and muted conflicting viewpoints of the lead pair.

Starting it on the love declaration of Dong-kyung to Myul-mang’s love-me appeal and Dong-kyung’s love-me counter appeal. Can Dong-kyung just wish to love Myul-mang for a long time so she can live and we can all be happy?

On the brighter note, the side love triangle has also accelerated and its realistic romance conflict is as gravitating as the supernatural love conflict of the main leads. Inevitably, Na Ji Na has to choose which kind of love her heart will beat for between the two close friends.
