Taxi Driver 2 Episode 5 and 6 Highlights

In the latest episodes of Taxi Driver 2, Do-ki and the gang help a little girl named So-yeon find her sister So-mang.

To do so, they infiltrate a house private consultation seminar with Kang Pil-seung aka Mr. Kang.

Do-ki and Go-eun pose as newlyweds to get a slot in the secret trade Mr. Kang does to get details about So-yeon’s predicament. They also see him in a picture with So-yeon and another girl who is probably So-mang.

Unfortunately, they did not fit the requirements needed by Mr. Kang to grant a house. After securing another meeting by damaging the initial documents submitted through individual consultation, they secure the slot.

“A baby will be born here. Register the baby as yours.”

Initially thinking that Mr. Kang might be involved in illegal adoption; the reality is more complex when Do-ki and Go-eun were asked to register a child about to be born as theirs.

Witnessing the pregnant woman pleading to spare her life and keep her child, Do-ki creates a diversion. With Go-eun’s help, they bring the pregnant mother to a safe place.

Bypassing the legitimate adoption process, Mr. Kang has been recruiting single mothers in dire need of money. He gets the baby from them and recruits couples wanting to have a new house to register them as their own, and then later report them missing.

From there, his thriving illegal adoption also benefits as he also seizes the properties of couples who had adoption agreements with him.

Taking a clue from one of the properties Mr. Kang stole, Do-ki was able to rescue So-mang. He also finds the house where the stolen children are kept but Mr. Kang already gathered them.

Team Rainbow trails Mr. Kang while Do-ki finds his way out of the burning place with a young boy that hid when they were being evacuated.

On the brink of time, Go-eun locates the children hidden by Mr. Kang. Do-ki who is holding out his rage because they need to secure the children first, burst and throws punches at him that he so deserved.

Taxi Driver 2 Episode 5 and 6 Musings

Taking a sensitive topic involving children, Taxi Driver 2 resonated with the reality of how there are people who are hopelessly evil and greedy.  Sadly, there are adults that won’t flinch to embrace atrocities and even wield inhumane actions against children or other weak people.

Raising awareness of societal issues involving child abuse, lawbreaking adoption process, and illegal property takeover; the series again vaunted contemplative lessons for all ages.

Subtly, it also touches on the difficulties of typical couples, who want to have a house or raise children; but struggle to have each or both.

Also, finally, the villain of Taxi Driver 2 is revealed and his elaborate investigation board looks like looming trouble for Team Rainbow. Oh Ha-joon’s (Shin Jae Ha) story could be related to the sniper who killed the man Kim Hyung-sub in episode 2.

His diligence is as top-notch as Do-ki’s skills in knowing what information he needs to execute his plans.

Transitioning from his friendly face to his antagonistic vibe, can Team Rainbow detect his intention before it’s too late?
