From a modest opening week, the series doubles the pace and excitement with revelations in the 2nd week of The Secret Romantic Guesthouse.

The Secret Romantic Guesthouse Episodes 3 and 4 Highlights
In the opening week of The Secret Romantic Guesthouse, viewers are introduced to Yoon Dan-oh. She is a person of noble blood but lives as an innkeeper. She runs an inn called Garden of Flowers with her nanny.
Unknown to her, their house was used as collateral by her father when he took a loan from Lord Jang. Learning the evil lord is after the deposed heir to the throne, Lee Seol, she proposes to find the missing man. If she can’t find it in a month, Lord Jang will get her house.
“Were you worried about us? You have a heart, after all.”
To begin her search, Dan-on needs to make a trip to Gwacheon. Secretly, Yu-ha and Si-yeol tag along until they were discovered. Later, San also joins them and also warned a group of bandits that could bring Dan-oh trouble.
Reaching the house of the man who has information about Lee Seol/Snowflake, Dan-oh learned how the deposed crown prince was taken care of by his nanny and was adopted by a family.
Unfortunately, he does not know which family and the nanny is already dead. Dan-oh at least get the idea that Snowflake is handsome and that he has a crimson spot on his ankle.
She tries to get information from children and gisaengs who can’t think of a man with such a mark. Hwaryeong also warns her of a dangerous path she took since a lot of people died in search of Snowflake.
“In order to save Garden of Flower, Dan-oh struck a deal with Master Jang.”
Yu-ha, Si-yeol and San visit Buyeonggak to ask Hwaryeong about what’s keeping Dan-oh busy. They learn about her deal with Master Jang.
San dissuades Dan-oh from her quest and his words that the inn is more than her life bothers her.
Meanwhile, Lord Shin meets with Master Jang and an elite guard to ask for details about shadow fighters protecting the royal family. But he was not able to get any information.
She later receives a note to go to a place if she’s looking for Snowflake.
Reaching the place, a sword was pointed at Dan-oh and San appears warning her to stop looking for Snowflake. Refusing to do so, San tells Si-yeol and Yu-ha that he was right she won’t back off.
“Nothing scares you. Is that a specialty?
Dan-oh’s three orabeonnis put her on a hot seat and she affirms what they heard from Hwaryeong.
They offer to help in her quest but she declines. Thankfully, Si-yeol knows her soft spot is making her nanny worry and uses it so they can be together with her mission.
At the palace, the King lets Consort Park who faked her new baby do as she pleases but asserts that he knows she’s ambitious. Queen Dowager also refuses her morning greeting with the fake infant prince. Lord Shin also digs the strange feeling he senses in the newborn prince.
Dan-oh and her orabeonnis proceed to their mission and needs access to the records of the slave. After bribing an officer Si-yeol met at the gambling den, they got a pass to the room.
In the nick of time, San finds the book and places it strategically so Dan-oh would bump into it so that she would feel happy finding it on her own. Unfortunately, Yu-ha had to go back home as his stepmother is gravely ill.
Yu-ha goes to Buyounggak to tell his half-brother to go home, but he gets humiliated by him. Hwaryeong who learns of his identity as a son of Lord Jung appears with mixed emotions.
When Yu-ha returns to the Garden of Flowers, Si-yeol feeds him on the blossoming affection between Dan-oh and San.
“I won’t stop. Not like this. I won’t give up.”
The next day, Yu-ha tries to affirm the gossip he heard from Si-yeol, but Dan-oh safely evades. They also meet a slave of Lee Seol’s brother prince to get some clues. But they were directed to meet Hwaryeong who refuses to provide details.
Instead, she warns her of The Watchman that protects Snowflake.
Pushing her determination, Dan-oh pleaded Hwaryeong to help her despite not revealing why she wants to keep the inn. Relenting to Dan-oh’s plea, Hwaryeong shares a treasure passed on to true heirs and was left to Lee Seol as a true heir. An engraving of a dragon is on the treasure.
Meanwhile, San meets the eunuch at a place to warn him of staying away from Dan-oh. Sensing San’s concern, their conversation gets interrupted when Master Jang and his troops arrive. He successfully shot an arrow that hit San’s arm.
Struggling to reach the inn, San lost consciousness and Dan-oh who sees a palanquin pleads to the carrier to help her bring San to a clinic. Just then, Master Jang and his team arrive. He halts the palanquin and orders to open it.
The Secret Romantic Guesthouse Episodes 3 and 4 Musings
An overload of information that helps the vagueness of the series premiere erupted in the latest episodes of The Secret Romantic Guesthouse. It is looking so promising based on the conflicts and character motivations presented.
Notably, the narrative adds another mystery man to discover in its second week. As explained, wherever Lee Seol is, The Watchman will be there to protect him.
Still, we need a definite answer if San is The Watchman and if Si-yeol is Snowflake.
This week also explains why Dan-oh is hiding her sister in the annex and why she needs to protect the house.
For now, unresolved grudges and hidden agendas roughly sketched are expected to make the plot go more interesting. Admirably, the writer has designed each character with a distinct mission while separating them as heroes and villains.
Some are volatile which would cleverly complement the compelling plans of the story’s main players. Moreover, inherent to historical dramas is their array of the big cast.
The same goes for The Secret Romantic Guesthouse. Nevertheless, early on in the narrative lay a proper ground for the viewers to focus on which characters would have friendly and sour connections.
Will San escape the sticky situation? Is he The Watchman? What is Hwaryeong’s connection with Yu-ha? Is Si-yeol Snowflake? What will Lord Shin do once he confirms his suspicion about the King’s new son?
