The Devil Judge Quick Plot Recap

The story revolves around the national hero and Chief Judge of Korea, Kang Yohan. He is known for being a cunning, intelligent, and ruthless judge.

He presides a live trial, that is so popular amongst people. Yohan involves the people to decide what will happen to the convict in that case. He said it’s the way people should exercise their democracy. Because of this many people praise him for being the face of justice.

An organization called Social Responsibility Foundation is where businessmen and politicians donate their money for the sake of helping poor citizens of the country. The foundation also funds Yohan’s live court trial.

However, the foundation is a corrupt group and they lie about helping people. The money they donate will be for the sake of themselves only as they have atrocious lives living in secrets and lies. Because of this, Yohan plans to eradicate this vile group and make them pay for their sins and crimes.

Judge Kim Gaon came into the picture. He is a newly appointed associate judge for the live trial. He is a compassionate and righteous man. His principles and ideologies are very different from Judge Kang’s attitude and ways. Gaon seeks to be fair and just all the time.

Yohan sees potential towards Gaon. However, Gaon is not yet very open to teaming up with him. Yet, he is still persistent to show him that his ways and thinking about the world are the right ones. He makes him realize that there are people who became monsters because of their greed and other sins.

When Gaon realized this, he joins hands with Yohan to create a better world for everyone through justice and authority.

The Devil Judge Peak Points

Relevant Political Issues

The Devil Judge emphasizes the reality of our world today, particularly in politics. Shameless and evil politicians in movies or series are not new in movies and series. We often see them because it mirrors the truth of how prevalent their existence is.

In the story, President Heo Jeong-se is nothing but a loudmouth and foolish president. Even his colleagues in Social Responsibility Foundation call him a clown. He is a representation that anyone can be a president, especially when they have enough money and influence. President Heo knows nothing about politics yet he holds such power he does not deserve.

In conclusion, this drama reminds us that we should use our right to vote in a very thorough manner. We should vote for politicians that will surely make our lives better and not some selfish people who will abuse their power for their own good.

The involvement of technology in the story

Since the story has a dystopian theme, technology plays a great role in keeping the flow of the story. It highlights how technology can bring power to one’s nation.

Also in times of need, like when Judge Kang and the group hold an emergency live trial outside. The electricity goes off so the people weren’t able to watch the session through their TV’s. Luckily, the trial is also live in an app called DIKE. Through this, people can still watch and vote on their phones even without electricity.

It’s a great presentation on what we can benefit from technology. It can also give ideas to future writers to involve technology as part of the story.

Riveting Plot Twists Each Episode

This drama is so unpredictable. As viewers, we feel that we can’t fully trust what will happen to this series. Each episode is thrilling and exciting.

On that note, the plot twists fused strongly to the narrative flow. However, it’s also tricky because it’s hard to avoid some plot holes. Fortunately, The Devil Judge knows how to deal with evident plot hitches.

The story of each character also holds a great part in the plot bends. One thing is for sure, watching this series might give some trust issues for the character and even the story itself.

The Devil Judge Series Musing

Expertly constructed, The Devil Judge is one of the most brilliant and thrilling series this season. Along with superb storytelling and unfazed dialogues, its emphasis on bringing relevant and relatable messages about politics and the justice system is truly commendable.

It goes without saying but the impressive portrayals of the lead cast and even the cameo appearances are worth lauding. The characterization of each character is also well-made and complements the vibe of the story efficiently.

Yohan and Gaon have powered a remarkable K-Drama duo that is hard to forget. Their dynamics are great together and so are their individual moments. Although there are times that their relationship is put to a test, they still work together for the greater good.

Even though this series is thrilling and action-packed, it still conveys deep emotion and a meaningful drive to inspire. There are moments in the series where we cry and make us feel devastated and also some moments that are happy and calm.
