Jin Ki Joo Challenges Mute Role In Film “Midnight”

Korean film Midnight expects to be the new thriller film this summer.

Korean film Midnight has finished shooting in 2019. Expected to release in 2020, the premiere of the film got postponed due to COVID-19. 

TVING happily announces that Midnight will officially release on screen. Jin Ki Joo (Kyung-mi), who will take the mute role, shared the teaser of the upcoming movie.

Fans are excited and thrilled to see Jin Ki Joo (Little Forest, Come and Hug Me, and Homemade Love Story) back on screen for her incredible acting.

Midnight tells the story of Kyung-mi (Jin Ki Joo), who is hearing and speech impaired. She is working as a sign language counselor at a call center.

One night, Kyung-mi witnessed a murder in the dark streets of Seoul. The midnight killer, Do Shik (Wi Ha Joon), targets and hunt Kyung-mi to silence her. 

The film packs with expected action, thrill, and suspense. Along with the main leads, Jin Ki Joo and Wi Ha Joon (18 Again, Romance Is A Bonus Book), Kim Hye Joon (True Beauty, Record of Youth) will portray So Jung.

Jin Ki Joo shares her challenges during the production with a mute role. The actress said that she practiced a lot in water. In addition, she prepared her body by constantly running, rolling, and hanging for intense scenes. 

Rounding up the cast are Park Hoon (Jong Tak), Kil Hae Yeon (Kyung-mi’s mother), and Oh Ji Young as a call center agent. 

Park Hoon, as So Jung’s (Kim Hye Joon) brother, is known for his supporting roles. He made a special appearance on The King: Eternal Monarch, Sergeant Choi Woo Geun (Snoopy) on Descendants of the Sun, and many more.

On the other hand, Kil Hae Yeon has portrayed many roles as the main lead’s mother. Finally, Oh Ji Young will be seen at the upcoming drama, At A Distance Spring Is Green, and portrayed as Hwa Jin’s attendant on Mr. Queen.
