KCC Philippines Unveils Movie Lineup For “2021 Korean Film Festival”

Get your popcorn ready Philippine Korean movie fans! The films are out for what you can binge-watch at the 2021 Korean Film Festival!

To ensure that staying at home with your loved ones isn’t just safe but also fun, this May, in celebration of Family Month in Korea, Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines will be bringing back the crowd-favorite Korean Film Festival!

Titled “2021 Korean Film Festival: Full House, Fun for All,” is once again happening online this whole month of May. It would offer a jam-packed movie experience for viewers all over the country starting from May 7 to May 27. Constant and even new KFF patrons can enjoy seven outstanding films from a diverse set of genres for free at home in as easy as 1,2,3.

The three sub-genres per week namely Action, Comedy and Family Drama have been specially picked to cater to the varying preferences of every family member. Those who are looking for a good laugh, action-packed scenes, or heartwarming movies would definitely have their own favorites among the lineup.

Under the Action genre, there’s the 2019 film “Exit” starring Jo Jung-suk, Girls Generation’s Im Yoon-ah and there’s also the 2019 film “Extreme Job” starring Ryu Seung-ryong, Lee Hanne, Jin Seon-kyu, Lee Dong-hwi, Gong Myung.

The comedy category has the 2016 film “My Annoying Brother” featuring Jo Jung-suk, EXO’s Do Kyung-soo and Park Shin-hye, as well as, the 2019 film “Miss and Mrs. Cops” starring Ra Mi-ran and Lee Sung-kyung.

Get your tissues ready because under the family drama genre there’s the highly-acclaimed 2019 film “Kim Jiyoung, Born in 1982” starring Jung Yu-mi and Gong Yoo.

There’s also the 2018 flick “Keys to the Heart” featuring Lee Byung-hun, Park Jung-min, and 2021 Oscars’ Best Supporting Actress winner, Youn Yuh-jung, as well as, the 2018 drama “The Soul-Mate” starring Ma Dong-seok and Kim Young-kwang.

2021 KFF Online Film Reaction Essay Contest

Apart from showcasing these films, KCC has also prepared exciting activities for those who are looking to win some cool prizes through the 2021 KFF Online Film Reaction Essay Contest and the KFF Survey.

All the participants need to do is either by writing their own thoughts about the films or by simply answering a few questions. Full mechanics of the contests can be found on KCC’s official SNS.

Korean Film Festival is one of the landmark events of KCC’s Kolorful Adventures campaign which takes its inspiration from the colorful Korean culture that has been the playground of most Filipinos since the advent of the Hallyu Wave and has been the companion of many in weathering the ongoing pandemic.
