Vanness Wu Take A Ride

Singer, Dancer, Producer, Actor, Director – An iconic entertainer. Multihyphenate Vanness Wu is back with a new album!

For the first time in his marvelous two-decade career, Vanness Wu has released an entirely English album. In detail, his album Take A Ride is crafted with explorative genres. From sunny pop-punk to atmospheric R&B, refreshing acoustic rock, and jazzy hip-hop, he has poured it all on this new release, out today via Universal Music Taiwan/Virgin Music.

“Take a Ride is inspired by everything I listened to growing up, from Tupac to Sting to Stevie Wonder. I want people to listen to it without expecting a certain style, because the project is a way to get to know me as a person who’s always exploring musically.”

The Making Of Take A Ride

He has always wished to release a full album in the United States. In detail, the multi-hyphenate Asian-American artist wrote and produced the album while traveling the world. Free of the constraints of a stuffy studio, his album’s tracklist consists of songs with limitless sounds reflecting both his ever-curious spirit and his laid-back Cali roots.

Fun fact, Vanness had fun discovering new tunes and writing lyrics while he was hopping on Airbnbs around the world, bouncing between Malibu, Thailand, Kyoto, and London. On top of that, Producer David Lucius King and songwriter Brian Lee (known to have worked with Post Malone, Blackpink, Lady Gaga) have both contributed to the project.

Additionally, David Fu directed the music video of his title track ‘Taking A Ride‘. He is known best as a cinematographer and associate producer of, Ip Man Legacy: Master Z, Crouching Tiger, and Hidden Dragon 2.
