Securing his post-military service project, Park Hyung Sik readies for his crown prince role in new tvN period series.
Sports Chosun reported that an official in the entertainment industry confirmed Park Hyung Sik to be the hero of 잠중록 Jamjungrok (RT).
The series chronicles the story of a genius and mysterious woman who was accused of murdering a family member. She meets the crown prince in the most desperate moment of her life, and they both recognize they are each other’s savior at first sight. Initially connected because of a transaction, it will lead to an inevitable romance between them.
Park Hyung Sik plays the role of Lee Hwan. He grew up freely, but he suddenly leads a large army due to his father’s resentment. He also became the owner of the Donggung Palace replacing his fragile older brother as the crown prince.
The situation forced on him made him a cynical and suspicious crown prince. On the outside, he acts like a bloody and fearless prince, but he is a double-sided character with deep darkness firmly rooted in his heart.
Prior to his military service, Park Hyung Sik made remarkable projects solidifying his following. His notable works include the film Jury and dramas Suits, Strong Woman Do Bong Soon. Jamjungrok marks his second historical drama prince role since Hwarang: The Poet Warrior.
Park’s latest drama choice is the most anticipated work in the second half of tvN. To be directed by Lee Jong-jae of 100 Days My Prince fame, Sleep Memories will be penned by writer Jung Hyun Jung. Writer/Creator Jung has built a solid portfolio of well-loved romance stories such as Romance is a Bonus Book, Discovery of Love, Five Enough and I Need Romance series franchise. Her most recent work is Lovestruck in the City.
Jamjungrok is slated for broadcast in the second half of 2021 via tvN.
