Jung Il Woo & Kwon Yuri Triumphantly End MBN’s Acclaimed Series “Bossam: Steal the Fate”

Achieving impressive feats, Bossam: Steal the Fate starring Jung II Woo and Kwon Yu Ri, ended with high ratings and perfect acting.

Directed by Kwon Seok Jang and written by Kim Ji Soo along with, the series tackles the topic of women’s oppression.

Set in Joseon Dynasty, Ba-Woo (Jung II Woo) is a man that gambles, steals, fights, and secretly hides his identity.

He also works by doing bossam, a customary remarriage that happens during the Joseon era.

In the process of Bossam, a widowed is not allowed to marry again. However, force kidnappings of widowed men or women can be a solution, and they can marry again.

While Ba-woo is working, he mistakenly kidnapped Princess Hwa-In/Soo-Kyung (Kwon Yuri), daughter of King Gwanghae and daughter-in-law of his enemy Lee Yi-Cheom (Lee Jae Yong).

This historical-romance drama successfully ended with a high rating showing that many fans loved and watched the series since episode 1.


Kwon Yuri as “Historical Drama Goddess”

Girls Generations’ Yuri has been proving her growth as an actress through her recent works. 

Playing the role of Soo-kyung, the actress enthusiastically did her role as a painter and was loved by many viewers. 

She also portrayed a straight character, complete with confidence, charms, and a colorful relationship with her fellow actors.

Jung II Woo Admits That This Drama Is Special To Him

Recently, actor Jung II Woo shed his thoughts about Bossam: Steal the Fate and said that this drama has a special meaning to the actor.

Jung has passionately worked on previous historical dramas like Haechi, Moon Embracing the Sun, and Night Watchman’s Journal. His experience was evidently applied to his acting skills as he suited up as Ba-Woo in this drama.

In an interview, he said that he grew up immensely in doing this drama and had no regrets in giving his all.

When asked what he worked out the most in playing Ba-Woo, he said that he worked very hard to absorb his charm that is strong on the outside but delicate on the inside.

He also shared that facing Lee Yi-Cheom (Lee Jae Yong) was his favorite scene in the drama because a variety of emotions, like anger and fear, was released with the character of Ba-Woo adding tension.

Moreover, he also talked about his relationship with Yuri and said they got closer in real life while working on their characters.

The actor was also grateful because the series was acknowledged as the highest rating drama in MBN’s drama history.

He felt that their hard work for the drama was recognized and appreciated.
