It’s been six years since we saw Kim Woo Bin on the small screen. That makes the eagerly-awaited tvN series Our Blues even more special.
To be penned by acclaimed writer Noh Hee Kyung (Dear My Friends, It’s Okay That’s Love), the new tvN’s Saturday drama will be directed by Kim Gyu Tae.
Our Blues is a work that chronicles the sweet and bitter lives of all who stand at the end, climax, or beginning of life. It tells the life stories of various characters in an omnibus format against the backdrop of warm and lively Jeju and the cold and rough sea.
Boasting a roster of 14 lauded actors, the special omnibus series heralds a unique taste from existing works. Actors from all generations gather to portray the lives of ordinary people set on Jeju island.
For his comeback drama, Kim Woo Bin takes the role of Park Jeong-joon, a kind and warmhearted sailor. Even when everyone went to Seoul, he remains to live in his hometown with his family without much greed.
His dream is to live a simple life in Jeju with the woman he loves. Living on the beach in a remodeled abandoned bus which he decorated like a cafe, his tamed character surely elevates excitement.
Transforming into Captain Park, the character stills revealed by the production team show Kim Woo Bin busy fishing and taking divers on his boat. They sell fish at auction houses and markets.
To prepare for his role, Kim went for a tanned look to express Captain Park’s island life working under the scorching sun. His commitment to the story is expected to draw anticipation from his fans who are waiting for the premiere of Our Blues.
Mark your calendars for Kim Woo Bin’s drama comeback in Our Blues on April 9. International fans can watch it on Netflix.
