Nam Joo Hyuk marks his big screen comeback in October for the film, Remember.
In the movie, he portrays In-gyu, a young man in his twenties who joins in the revenge plan of Pil-joo, played by Lee Sung Min.
Remember traverses how Pil-joo, an 80-year-old Alzheimer’s patient sets forth to complete his revenge planned for 60 years before his memory disappears.
Previously the unveiled posters show the two lead stars and an arresting poster of a pistol held by the hand of Pil-joo. Keen to avenge the death of his entire family, he searches for the pro-Japanese and drags his young best friend In-gyu to his conquest.
Subsequently, the teasers revealing Nam Joo Hyuk evoke a youthful vibe. In-gyu is an ordinary young man in his 20s who works at a family restaurant with Pil-joo.
He quickly accepted Pil-ju’s offer to take care of his part-time hours if he helped him drive for just one week. However, he is pointed out as a suspect in the incident by accidental CCTV footage taken at the scene.
Nam Joo Hyuk is expected to show various emotional changes through In-gyu, who watches Pil-ju’s revenge journey closer than anyone else as he accompanies him. Consequently, after being deeply involved in his revenge, he constantly asks questions to Pil-joo and makes conciliation. Thus, generating curiosity, tension and sympathy for the viewers.
When asked about his latest project, he shared his fondness for the experience.
“I was attracted by the fact that it was a character that I had never played before. The process of expressing various emotional changes in a situation that was unintentionally involved was interesting.”
Director Lee Il-hyung sings praises to the actor who immersed himself in his role efficiently.
“He richly expressed the character of In-gyu, a typical young man in his 20s, and created the friendship and best friend harmony with Pil-joo that transcends generations.”
Remember, starring Lee Sung Min and Nam Joo Hyuk will be released on October 26.
