The Kidnapping Day

The Kidnapping Day Episodes 3 and 4 Highlights

In the opening week, Myeong-jun (Yoon Kye Sang) agrees to kidnap a girl from a rich family to cover the medical bill of her ailing daughter. However, Ro-hee, the girl he was supposed to kidnap falls right in front of his car and suffers memory loss.

He also learns that her parents are murdered just as the news of her daughter’s hospital bills were paid which his estranged wife who planned the kidnapping does not have an idea about.

“Who are you? A kidnapper? Then, who am I? What’s my name?”

Cornered by Ro-hee, Myeong-jun confessed the truth and apologized for his actions.

Ro-hee pleads to send her back home so they go to the nearest police station. Before going in, she reminds him to stay safe before his daughter’s surgery.

When a police car enters the station’s premises, flashes from Ro-hee’s memory erupt from the night she ran away from their house. Because of that, she asks help from the police officer to look for Myeong-jun.

Explaining her situation of not being able to trust the police, Myeong-jun worries about where she will stay. But Ro-hee asserts that since he kidnapped her, he should take responsibility.

She even suggests that he take care of her before he turns himself in and helps her retrieve her memories. She drafts an agreement contract which Myeong-jun thinks an enslavement agreement, to be honest.

“You kidnap me so you should take responsibility.”

Learning Myeong-jun’s wife orchestrated the kidnapping, they head to Seoul to get more information about Ro-hee.

Thanks to Ro-hee’s clever brain, they diverted the police searching for them to escape through the subway and head to Seoul. However, the police decided to make the case public, thus, causing concern to the duo who would struggle to evade the chasing officers.

Reaching Hye-eun’s place, Ro-hee took charge of getting the information she needed. She also asserts that she is technically an accomplice. When they were asked to find another place to stay, Ro-hee responded that police officers were looking for them.

Meanwhile, Park Sang-yun, the detective leading the case learns that Myeong-jun has a prior murder case.

The Kidnapping Day

“I cared about you since the day I kidnapped you. Even now, I care. There’s nothing I can do for you. That’s why I am afraid that I won’t be able to protect you.”

The next day, Hye-eun gives Myeong-jun money for the two of them to spend. Still suspicious of Hee-ae’s mother, Ro-hee moves to follow her until they reach the hospital.

Hye-eun discovers them and confesses to acquiring the HIV virus which is why she chose to leave away from her ailing daughter.

Ro-hee also learns from her that she is her father’s research subject which has accumulated a large amount of funding. Some of the sources of this fund have already been met by Sang-yun and his team.

Aside from the police chasing after Ro-hee and Myeong-jun, people who know about Dr. Choi’s research are also keen to look for her.

Upset to hear that Myeong-jun wants to turn himself in, Ro-hee stubbornly insists on catching the culprit. Voicing out his concern that he might not be able to protect her because he is dumb and afraid, Ro-hee tells him that she only wants to hear his willingness to protect her.

Appeasing Ro-hee, he promises to protect her and she right away stops crying.

Using her brain to get a place for them to stay the night, Ro-hee waits at a nearby coffee shop while Myeong-jum gets a room at a nearby inn.

But that’s when the mysterious guy who has been tracking the two shows up to take away Ro-hee. Chasing after the man, Myeong-jun summons his judo skills and goes like a monster to defeat the equally strong villain.

But as he was stabbed by a knife, he rested on a sidewalk while carrying the still unconscious Ro-hee.
