Now exploring solo activities, he has released quite impressive music that speaks of his eloquence as an artist.
Preparing to meet him at MARK TUAN ‘THE OTHER SIDE OF ASIA’ TOUR on January 14 at SM Skydome, our team took time to explore his thoughts about life, career and everything in between.
Mark Tuan Music To Set Your Mood Right For “The Other Side In Manila”
Taking the cover story of SHADOWPLAY magazine in October 2023, Mark Tuan asserts how living lowkey is one of the secrets to an uncomplicated life.
When asked what keeps him genuine and down-to-earth, Mark has an insightful reply.
“I think it’s my family and friends. They keep me grounded and humble. At the end of the day, I’m just a regular person and grateful that I got the opportunity to do what I love to do. I think having a great team helps a lot, and all the experiences I’ve had in the past have moulded me into who I am today.“
Always brave in trying new ventures, Mark Tuan launched the streetwear brand XC3 in 2021. In an interview with PAPER Magazine, he elaborates that trying out something new can be chaotic. But it goes down to deciding what you are passionate about at the moment.
“I think my decisions or my thoughts on things changed like 567 times. It changed every single week. At first, I was like, well, do I really want to keep making music? Is making music, something I want to keep doing? Or do I want to try new things? Maybe I want to try streaming while playing videogames, or just kind of relax a little bit and just record my life, do a YouTube blog channel. And I think the main one right now is music. Now that I’m back here, and starting to meet people, I’m starting to get a feel of what I want to do.”
Ever the persuasive, Mark Tuan spoke with L’Officiel in November 2023 and shared stunning stories about his career.
When asked about how he set goals, he responded with a realistic answer.
“I want to repay the fans and supporters for all the belief and love they’ve given me so rather than setting concrete goals, I want to make sure that I’m the best version of myself at any point of my life.“
In the same interview, he gave an illuminating talk about working on passion.
“I would say to keep remembering what brought you there. It’s hard to do anything without passion and love so if performing, or doing music is your passion and love, keep working towards that. The result will be worth it.”
