The long wait was finally over. After five years, Korean actor and model Jang Ki Yong met his Filipino fans again at his Beautiful Day Asia Fanmeeting Tour 2024.
The actor made his acting debut in 2014 with a small role in the drama, It’s Okay, That’s Love. Since then, he has risen to fame for his unforgettable roles in Come and Hug Me, My Roommate is a Gumiho, and The Atypical Family.
As this is the last stop of his Asia Fanmeeting tour, Jang Ki Yong truly made it memorable as he surprised his fans by appearing in the crowd after entering the hall. He opened the show by serenading his fans with his cover of “Thought of You” by John Park.
“Kumusta kayo? Ako si Jang-Ki Yong. I love the Philippines!” Welcomed Jang Ki Yong as he reminisced about the last time he came and visited his Filipino fans in the same venue in November 2019 at his first fan meeting: “Filmography in Manila.”

Jang Ki Yong looked back on the most amazing moments with his fans and in his life and career. Chronologically, the interview with host Sam Oh included his first fan meeting in Manila, memories of his dramas such as My Roommate is a Gumiho, his military enlistment in August 2021, and the drama that aired during which was Now We Are Breaking Up.
Fans also got to review his 2022 which was his first vacation, the Korean military musical production, “Musical Blue Helmet: A Song Of Meissa,” his military discharge in February 2023, Hawaii trip in June 2024 where he talked about his love for running marathons, and his drama, “Atypical Family.”

Jang Ki Yong showed his quirky side, rewarding his fans with top-notch fan service with the second segment as four lucky fans were picked via a raffle draw to re-enact iconic scenes from the drama, “Atypical Family.”
When asked if he has a favorite scene in Atypical Family, his fans yelled “kiss scenes” in unison to which the actor echoed “I’m trying to think, but all I hear from you [fans] are, ‘kiss, kiss, kiss,” erupting laughter among the fans.

The actor enthusiastically accommodated his fans’ requests, doing various heart poses for the crowd, doing a K-Pop challenge with NCT 127’s “Walk”, and a morning call where he had to say “Bebe, gising na.”

Jang Ki Yong spends time reading what his fans wrote as a message to him and finding out that some of his fans also travelled all the way from South Korea to meet him in his last fanmeeting stop in the Philippines.
Beautiful Zone
As if the night isn’t filled with too many surprises, Jang Ki Yong announced that instead of a hi-bye session, all his attendees were to be treated to a hi-touch event—on the condition that his fans would win three games, some with and some against Jang Ki Yong.
Fans who were picked from the audience wore their competitive spirits as the hi-touch session was solely dependent on them winning. As expected, fans won the games such as stacking miniature chairs, sipa, and group jump rope.
The actor also continued to woo the audience, singing the songs “Twenty-Five, Twenty-One,” “I Love You,” and “Paradise Tree.”
Beautiful Wrap Up
As the event approaches its denouement, the actor reflects on the night he spent so far with his fans. “I want to do it again tomorrow,” Ki Yong said. “I really, really enjoyed spending time with my fans. It’s been five years since I last visited the Philippines. When I first entered [the venue], I kinda had this thought that this is really the energy of the Philippines. It really was a success,” he added.
The actor is in the middle of shooting his new drama Pigpen to be released next year. He promised his fans that they have a lot to look forward to and that he’s excited to continuously bring his best, touch the hearts, and meet his fans through his different works.
