“Dear Hongrang” Decks Mystery Romance of Fate and Secrets

A missing son, a desperate search, and a long-awaited return ignite a whirlwind of emotions in this period mystery romance, Dear Hongrang.

When Hongrang, the son of a powerful Joseon merchant, vanishes without a trace, his devoted stepsister Jae-yi embarks on a relentless search for him. Years later, Hongrang unexpectedly returns—but he is no longer the boy who disappeared. Now a grown man with no recollection of his past, he carries a secret that threatens to unravel the delicate balance of his family. As old emotions resurface and hidden desires come to light, Dear Hongrang weaves a captivating tale of love, longing, and intrigue in the Joseon era.

Lee Jae Wook (Alchemy of Souls, Search WWW) takes on the role of Hongrang, who mysteriously reappears after 12 years, unable to recall his childhood. Jo Bo Ah (Destined with You, Tale of the Nine Tailed) portrays Jae-yi, the strong-willed and determined young woman whose world is upended by Hongrang’s return. As emotions between them grow complicated, another presence looms—Jung Ga Ram (The Interest of Love, Love Alarm) plays Mu-jin, the family’s adopted son, who feels threatened by Hongrang’s reappearance, especially as he begins to stir Jae-yi’s heart.

The series also features Uhm Ji Won (Little Women) as Min Yeon-ui, the family’s matriarch, whose obsessive love for her lost son knows no bounds. Park Byung-eun (The Bequeathed) plays Sim Yeol-guk, the calculating head of the merchant house, whose ambitions drive him to make perilous decisions.
