MBC has unveiled its new Friday-Saturday drama In Your Brilliant Season, locking in Lee Sung-kyung and Chae Jong-hyeop as leads and setting the stage for a heart-fluttering romance that blends warmth, mystery, and healing.
The series, penned by Jo Sung-hee (She Was Pretty, Thirty But Seventeen) and directed by Jeong Sang-hee (Please Send Me a Fan Letter), tells the story of two people who meet as if by fate: Song Ha-ran (Lee Sung-kyung), a brilliant fashion designer trapped in the icy grip of past loss, and Sun Woo-chan (Chae Jong-hyeop), a sunny, carefree character designer hiding scars from a mysterious accident. Their encounter becomes the spark that begins to thaw her frozen heart and change the trajectory of his life.
Lee Sung Kyung, beloved for her layered portrayals in Dr. Romantic, Call It Love, and Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo, is set to embody Ha-ran’s elegance and fragility with her trademark mix of charm and emotional depth. Meanwhile, Chae Jong Hyeop, fresh from successes like Castaway Diva and Love All Play, will bring warmth and sincerity to Chan, whose brilliance hides lingering pain.
