“Taxi Driver 3” Revs Up for a Thrilling Return with the Full “Rainbow Five” Cast

SBS’s hit drama series Taxi Driver is gearing up for a powerful comeback.

The highly anticipated Taxi Driver 3 of the beloved Friday-Saturday drama will premiere on November 21, with the entire “Rainbow Five” — Lee Je Hoon, Kim Eui Sung, Pyo Ye Jin, Jang Hyuk Jin, and Bae Yoo Ram — returning to the driver’s seat once again.

Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, Taxi Driver 3 follows the story of Kim Do-gi (Lee Je Hoon) and the secretive Rainbow Transport, a private taxi service that delivers revenge on behalf of victims who the system has failed. The series has captivated audiences with its refreshing take on justice and cathartic storylines, becoming one of SBS’s biggest hits. The previous season achieved an impressive 21% peak viewership, ranking as the fifth-highest-rated Korean drama across terrestrial and cable networks since 2023, and earned the Best Drama Series award at the 28th Asian Television Awards (ATA) — solidifying its status as a major K-drama franchise.

The recently unveiled script reading session gave fans a first look at the energy and chemistry driving the new season. Present at the event were writer Oh Sang-ho, who crafted the show’s solid narrative universe, and director Kang Bo-seung, previously an assistant director for Season 1 and co-director of Dr. Romantic 3. With both the creative minds and the main cast reunited, the atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation for another high-octane season.

It was the first time in two years that the “Rainbow Five” gathered for a table read, and the synergy between the cast was palpable from the very first line. Lee Je-hoon, Kim Eui-sung, Pyo Ye-jin, Jang Hyuk-jin, and Bae Yoo-ram effortlessly reignited their on-screen camaraderie, proving why fans have grown attached to their teamwork. Their sharp, witty exchanges and emotional depth immediately signaled a season that promises both intense action and heartwarming chemistry.

Adding a creative twist, the script reading was conducted in a unique storyboard format led by Director Kang Bo-seung, allowing actors to visualize their scenes while delivering their lines. This immersive process brought the action to life, highlighting the upgraded scale and cinematic tension fans can expect from “Taxi Driver 3.” The introduction of new, formidable villains also hinted at higher stakes and more explosive confrontations, ensuring viewers will be on the edge of their seats.

Expressing his excitement, Lee Je-hoon shared, “I’m so grateful and happy to be able to do Season 3. I’m proud of my members who are like family to me. I think we’ll be able to show you an even more intense story than before. I’ve been preparing diverse sides of Kim Do-gi and can’t wait to share them with viewers. Please look forward to the new adventures of Kim Do-gi and the Rainbow Transport team.”

Selected as a supported production project by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Communications Commission (KCA) for 2025, “Taxi Driver 3” is expected to deliver gripping stories of justice and redemption once again — but on an even grander scale. The drama will not only air on SBS but also be available across Asia, the Middle East, and Africa through Viu, Asia’s largest pan-regional OTT platform, allowing fans worldwide to join the ride.

With the “Rainbow Five” back together and the promise of deeper plots, upgraded action, and emotional payoffs, Taxi Driver 3 is set to take audiences on another thrilling journey that redefines vengeance — one ride at a time.
