“Undercover Miss Hong” Drops Energetic Script Reading Preview — Park Shin Hye and Go Kyung Pyo Lead Charismatic Retro Comedy Series

The curtain has officially lifted on tvN’s upcoming weekend drama Undercover Miss Hong, and its script reading already promises a vibrant, retro-fueled ride.

Set to premiere in January 2026, the series blends undercover intrigue with Y2K-era office charm, following a sharp securities supervisor in her 30s who suddenly finds herself posing as a 20-year-old rookie at Hanmin Securities to chase suspicious financial activity.

Returning to tvN after eight years, Park Shin Hye joins forces with Go Kyung Pyo, Ha Yoon Kyung, and Jo Han Gyeol, under the direction of Park Seon-ho, known for hits like Suspicious Partner and Wok of Love. With Studio Dragon behind the project, expectations are already soaring for a signature fin-de-siècle office comedy.

At the script reading held on the 3rd, the cast lit up the room with their explosive synergy. Park Shin Hye effortlessly toggled between the polished professionalism of Sammo Hong and the youthful spark of her undercover identity, Hong Jang-mi. Her performance instantly transported the room to late-90s Yeouido, earning unanimous praise.

Go Kyung Pyo brought cool-headed charisma as Shin Jung-woo, a numbers-driven management consultant and the newly appointed CEO. His steady, precise acting captured the sharp edge of 1990s financial elites, and his scenes with Park Shin-hye hinted at rich emotional layers and irresistible slow-burn chemistry.

Ha Yoon Kyung injected warmth and chaos as Go Bok-hee — Hanmin Securities’ presidential secretary and Geum-bo’s no-nonsense “big sister.” Her portrayal balanced ambition and charm, and she delighted fans by teasing strong rapport with Park Shin-hye.

Jo Han Gyeol rounded out the youthful dynamic as Albert Oh, a film buff and chairman’s grandson who parachutes into the company with carefree 90s energy.

Adding even more fun, Choi Ji-soo and Kang Chae-young fully embraced their roles as roommates Kang No-ra and Kim Mi-sook, setting up a dorm life full of friendships, mishaps, and heart.

The cast lineup is further strengthened by beloved veterans such as Lee Deok-hwa, Kim Won-hae, and Byun Jeong-soo, promising depth and polish. And to top it off, ITZY’s Shin Yu-na will make a special appearance as young Hong Jang-mi, adding an extra layer of excitement for fans.

After the reading, Park Shin Hye shared her enthusiasm:

“Every character is so alive. It’s going to be a heart-racing undercover story. Please look forward to it.”

Go Kyung Pyo expressed gratitude for working with the team, while Ha Yoon-kyung praised the lively atmosphere and teased the drama’s many hidden secrets. Jo Han-gyeol summed it up best:

“It blends genre and comedy — a drama you can truly dive into.”

Featuring retro office flair, undercover antics, and a powerhouse cast, Undercover Miss Hong is gearing up to become one of 2026’s most refreshing dramas.
