Set in the modern world, wherein innovations kept being upgraded and enhanced, Wisher gives privilege to people who have their own desires and wants for these wishes to come true.
One day, a group of students found an application on their mobile phones named ‘Wisher.’ Eventually, they found out that they can wish whatever they want on the application as long as they can accomplish the task that is given to them.
These teenagers are blinded by the application and keep wishing; doing everything they can to achieve the random task that they needed to do. It came to a point when these students wishes to harm other people and wished them to die.
However, Na-Duo, a reporter, along with two college students named Lu-Li and Qiu Wen-Dong wanted to know who are behind this application. As they continue to work together in solving the mystery behind ‘Wisher,’ they are enlightened on how humans can be fatally dangerous.

Transparency of Human Acts
In Wisher, it’s very evident that the drama exposed the desires of each people. The application controlled the students and makes them ignited that anything they want can be made possible with just a few clicks away.
Na-Duo, Lu-Li, and Wen-Dong are one of the few that saw the danger of the application. However, not everyone would think similarly to them because greed is one menacing truth about humans.
They did everything they can to unveil who’s behind the creation of this dangerous application and only to find out that it is run and created by an organization; which can be classified also as human beings. The transparency of human acts reflects on Wisher and how humans can either make life more beautiful or filthy.
The Danger of Human Desires
Since the college students in the drama can wish anything they want, it came to the point that they wished for someone they hate to die. This is one of the dangers of the presented risk of the app, because it can destroy human lives.
The death of Liang-Luo is one case that shakes the world of every character in the drama. Liang-Luo died in a car crash and everyone is suspecting that someone wished for him to die.
Wishing someone to die can be the most worst-case scenario that a simple human being can do. Not all people have remorse especially for someone they hate. That’s why it’s very easy for the students to make someone suffer in drama because the answer is already on their hands.
Wisher Series Musings
Since most of the drama’s that I’ve watched focused mainly on romance and comedy, this is my first time to watch a Chinese sci-fi drama and I commend their edits especially the introduction part of the drama.
I think the lessons of the drama suits what’s happening in the reality of the modern world. Different people and their different desires are the key motivators to strive hard and do everything they can to achieve their wishes.
However, people should practice proper ways of attaining their wants and needs. True, sometimes we don’t even care about the consequence the methods to obtain our goals. Thus, the constant nudge to always choose the dignified way.
Wisher also unfolds the enhancement of technology now and in the coming future. Something worth contemplating at present.
More than the actor’s acting, maybe what I liked the most in the drama is the message itself that they wanted for the audience to see. It relays the message that more people are being greedier as the economy develops because many individuals wanted to keep up with what society wants.
