With over two decades of experience in South Korean entertainment industry, Oh Ji Ho keeps his acting presence evolving.
Known for his versatility, Oh Ji Ho, is a master who is indispensable to the comic and action genres. He is like a fine wine with infinite acting range which has made his small, supporting and big roles resonate with distinct colors.
He recently sat down for a pictorial interview with BNT International to promote his latest works. In July, the film Prisoner was released.
Coming up on August 20 태백권 The Fist of Taebaek (LT) will also hit the big screen.
Along with catching up with his latest projects, his sleek features are highlighted in the photos released by BNT.
Prisoner + Fist of Taebaek
Credited for his works in classic romantic comedies, Oh Ji Ho conveys motivation to work on action projects after his marriage. He explains how he was known more for the rom-coms but for about seven years, he has actively worked in roles such as warrior, NIS agent and mixed martial arts player.
“After getting married, the action works didn’t come in well. I started building my body because I wanted to do something this year. By coincidence, two action movies came in one after another, so I was able to quench my thirst coolly,” the actor quipped.
Sharing his secret to a buffed body perfect for action projects, he revealed a combination of aerobic and strength exercises does the trick for him. Stressing the importance of diet, he admitted for a chicken breast diet for five months. At first it was really hard for him, but he get used to it eventually.
22 Years of Acting
When asked about his meaningful journey as actor, Oh Ji Ho undoubtedly expressed confidence in his action and comedy works.
Although he is deeply affectionate to the comedy genre, he likes humanist genre as well which brings laughter and emotion to the viewers.
Fortunate for his career, he confessed not experiencing a slump as an actor. “There was no slump, but I ran for 22 years without rest. So, I took a break for about 10 months after marriage.” While not doing anything for a long time, he adorably confessed having crazy thoughts of being forgotten by the public.
On Memorable Works + Dream Role
Oh Ji Ho answered that Couple or Trouble and The Slave Hunters are works which hold meaning to his heart.
He also hopes to challenge villain characters, but he is not getting any offers from the producers.
Appearing on entertainment show is also something that the actor looks forward to. He remarks being able to show 100% of the man Oh Ji Ho that has never been shown before.
Promising to communicate with his fans and be an actor who can bring smile and impress the viewers, Oh Ji Ho invited the public to see Fist of Taebaek.
He also apologizes for being unable to meet overseas fans often because of COVID-19.
“I am only in contact with overseas fans through SNS due to the corona crisis, but I am sorry for not seeing you often.”
