“Often appearing in my dreams,” Ji Sung shared his experience playing twins in Adamas.
tvN’s new Wednesday-Thursday mystery and thriller drama Adamas depicts the journey of the twins who teamed up to find the real culprit to clear the image of their biological father who was framed to be the killer of their stepfather.
It depicts the truth-tracking journey of the twin brothers.
Ji Sung takes on the role of identical twin brothers, Ha Woo-shin and Song Soo-hyun, who pursue the truth to clear the image of their biological father in Adamas.
First and foremost, Ji Sung stated that he needed time to get to know and adjust to the two of them, saying,
“I wanted to focus more on the feeling of being identical twins, rather than making and setting different points to distinguish the twins.”
Regarding this, he added,
“I wanted to make it possible for the characters who looked the same to look so different when I focused on the story in the play.”
This is the part in which Ji Sung realizes his acting conviction that he wanted to genuinely differentiate the character from the inside rather than the outside.
Not only that, Ji Sung said,
“When I slept at night, Ha Woo-shin and Song Soo-hyun often appeared in my dreams and were with me. In the end, the two people who appeared in the dream started to get confused as to who was who.”
However, as he became more acquainted with the character, he sent affectionate glances, saying that only reassurance remained.
In addition, best-selling mystery novel writer Ha Woo-shin, and Central District Prosecutor Song Soo Hyun may be twins, but their paths of careers are different.
Ji-sung said,
“They are both smart friends, but the way we deal with our sadness is very different. Ha Woo-shin is the type of person who calmly accepts sadness, swallows pain, and keeps it in his heart, whereas Song Soo-hyun honestly explodes the sadness and pain as it is, arranging the emotions and accepting them.”
Still, as twins, there must have been similarities other than faces. Ji-sung said,
“The common thing between the two is that they have an obsession with the truth.”
Through this, curiosity is stirred up in Ji Sung’s acting, which expresses the same perseverance as Ha Woo-shin and Song Soo-hyun in their pursuit of the truth.
Moreover, Ji Sung is establishing a dense design based on thorough character interpretation and deep empathy in preparation for the difficult challenge of one person and two roles.
