Three new stories are set to decorate C-Dramas On iQiyi next month!
Top-billed by some of the most popular Chinese stars, viewers who are particularly drawn to history and crime narratives would surely be delighted with these Chinese dramas to see on the platform.
A Love Never Lost
A Love Never Lost (人生若如初见)is a historical drama series that follows the journeys of five Chinese youths in early-1900s China, where the Qing dynasty is coming towards an end.
As each of them fights for their country’s future in their own ways, their paths cross each other and their fates are gradually intertwined.
The series follows actual historical events, with the First Sino-Japanese War as its inciting incident, leading to the five youths ending up in Tokyo.
Subsequently, the series leads up eventually to the 1911 revolution, where the revolutionaries finally overthrow the Qing Dynasty, putting an end to an old dynastic order that has lasted thousands of years.
Starring actors Li Xian (Go Go Squid!, Soul Snatcher), Chun Xia (Port of Call), Wei Daxun (1921, Begin Again, Somewhere Winter), and Zhu Yawen (Keep Running, The Witness, The Founding of an Army).
All of them have ranked on the Forbes China Celebrity 100 list in recent years.
Heroes
Heroes (说英雄谁是英雄)is a period series bannered by some of China’s brightest young talents at the moment. It is led by Zeng Shunxi (Joseph Zeng), who recently played starring roles in Over the Sea I Come to You and Heavenly Sword (带着爸爸去留学) and Dragon Slaying Saber (倚天屠龙记). He was also in the most recent crime drama Line Walker 3 (使徒行者3).
The female lead of Heroes is the iconic Yang Chaoyue, who is best known for her time in Produce 101, where she came in third to debut as a member of the girl group Rocket Girls 101. Despite her lack of singing or dancing talents, she was one of the most popular
contestants throughout the show, which allowed her to stand out with her personality.
Liu Yuning, one of China’s most popular singers, rounds up the cast. Known as a multi-talented celebrity in the scene, he is well-received in the television scene, having had roles in shows such as Legend of Anle (安乐传), The Long Ballad (长歌行) and Ultimate Note (终极笔记). He also lent his voice to the soundtracks of other popular dramas like Hello, the Sharpshooter (你好,神枪手) and My Sassy Princess (祝卿好).
Zeng plays the protagonist Wang Xiaoshi, a kind soul who leaves his hometown to explore the world. He ends up being acquainted with new friends, such as Bai Choufei (played by Liu) and Wen Rou (played by Yang), forging deep friendship bonds with them.
The series follows his journey from innocent youth to a reliable hero. Heroes has premiered on iQiyi across all global platforms.
Ordinary Greatness
Ordinary Greatness (警察荣耀) stars popular Chinese actress Bai Lu (The Legends, One and Only, Forever and Ever) who has starred in some of iQiyi’s most-watched shows.
This series tells the story of four young policemen who have just joined the force, each carrying their ideals and dreams. Facing the challenges of work pressures and social conflicts, the young policemen overcome the obstacles in front of them to grow into honorable policemen that serve the people.
This series also stars Zhang Ruoyun (Perfect Evidence, Dear My Friends, The Fated General), Wang Jingchun (So Long, My Son, To Live and Die in Ordos) and Xu Kaicheng (Well-Intended Love, I Cannot Hug You, Moonshine and Valentine).
