Kill Heel Opening Week Story
After a taste of a glorious career as a show host at UNI Home Shopping, things went awry for Woo Hyun (Kim Ha Neul). It results in her demeanor and perspective change.
Marked as a seasoned show host, her work is not hitting the required numbers as well as enjoying popularity. She is also getting tasks not befitting to what she perceives to be her value. Her interaction with people at work is also on a bland or sour side.
Technically appearing to be the breadwinner of her family, she has to bear the annoyance of having a jobless husband with a family that keeps asking for money from them.
Woo Hyun’s fate is the exact opposite of Bae Ok-sun (Kim Sung Ryung) who comes from a prominent family. At work, she is also well-respected for treating the employees well.
Gi Mo Ran’s Offer
In charge of the operation of UNI Home Shopping is Gi Mo-ran (Lee Hye Young). She is clever and cunning and has goals she wants to achieve.
She can put on a mask to keep an important social connection. When she realizes Woo-hyun resembles the woman who is dear to Lee Hyun-wook, CEO of UNI Home Shopping, she starts a risky ploy.
Pushing Woo-hyun to extreme pressure that caused her to have a panic attack, she succumbed to a broadcast mishap when her career is already looking bleak.
Unknown to her, Gi Mo-ran created the setback for her intention to use Woo-hyun as a pawn to a game she plans to play with CEO Lee. But will Woo Hyun allow it?
Kill Heel Opening Week Musings
Shaping up to tell the story of a woman bent to do anything for her career, Kill Heel seemingly threads to infidelity-themed dramas that have been a popular trend in recent years.
What makes it intriguing is how the series is already clear to present a well-layered story that would tackle different faces of strong-willed women, regardless of the life-changing choices they have to make.
Headlined by a talented cast, the direction of the narrative evokes confidence. Moreover, the female lead cast has suited up to their characters with distinct bravado.
Moving to a novel dark horse story, Woo Hyun struggles to get by with all her might because her daughter is still a motivation for her to live, despite her deplorable situation.
Meanwhile, Ok-sun personifies a woman who has everything but still feels incomplete.
Lastly, Mo-ran equates a charismatic character that does not flinch with cruel actions she commits to. It is intriguing to know more about how savage she can get in the story.
Overall, the extent of how far these three women would go for their goals is the main driving point of the series.
