And to heighten the anticipation, we have put together a playlist of songs you can listen to in the lead-up to POPstival 2022 to get you in the mood for the upcoming show.
Park Bom
Everyone knows how 2ne1’s Park Bom devoured the Kpop industry with her enchanting vocals, especially in her solo tracks. And one song that undoubtedly propelled the singer to make a name for herself is “Don’t Cry,” her solo track from the 2011 2ne1 2nd mini-album.
Hyolyn
Hyolyn’s appearance in the 2nd season of Mnet’s Queendom created headlines. Her participation in the show as a senior idol raised the standard of live singing and explosive performances. Hyolyn performed “Waka Boom” in the Queendom finals featuring Lee Young Ji and was included in the SISTAR main vocalist’s mini album ICE.
Brave Girls
There is no denying that Brave Girls have lots of hidden bops in their discography that need to be discovered. After being dubbed as the second reversal idols after NU’EST, Brave Girls released a slew of exciting summer tracks, including “Chi Mat Ba Ram,” a song from their fifth EP, Summer Queen, in June 2021.
VIVIZ
Returning to the stage, Eunha, SinB, and Umji formed the group VIVIZ in February 2022 with the debut track “BOP BOP.” The song allowed the three former members of GFriend to re-introduce themselves to the world as VIVIZ, a new group determined to deliver bop tracks and irresistible tunes.
LOONA
LOONA has always painted the town with unique vocals and synchronized choreographies, lifting the group to new heights. “Paint The Town” is a song that describes LOONA’s determination to dominate the music industry with its own colors. And how wonderful would it be to hear the group perform this powerful track live!
Be’o
Be’o’s “Counting Stars” has been sung by several Kpop artists in their broadcasts and daily Instagram lives. The song shot to stardom to its addicting rhythm and catchy melody, as well as the witty lyrics, and in just a few days, the Filipino audience will be able to sing along to it.
G22
G22 is described as the newest girl group ready to wage battle and raise the caliber of P-Pop to a whole new level. As the four-member P-pop girl group released “BANG!” in February 2022, they are no doubt the ensemble will devour the industry with their explosive vocals and powerful stage presence.
VXON
The future of P-pop is absolutely colorful, especially when VXON released “P.S.,” a song written by the members themselves.
CALISTA
The next big international pop group, CALISTA, has introduced themselves to the world through “Race Car,” the group’s debut track released on February 14, 2022. CALISTA will release the new song “Don’t Have Time” on October 21, 2022, just in time for their appearance on POPstival 2022.
Press Hit Play
Consisting of four members, Press Hit Play, also known as PHP, has returned with “Sambit,” a song that sums up the group’s journey and gratitude for their fans who supported and pushed them to get to where they are today.
Alamat
ALAMAT is the second P-pop group to make it on a Billboard chart, ranking No.2 on the Billboard Next Big Sound Charts. “ILY ILY” is the title of the group’s digital single, which was released in August 2022 featuring Lyca Gairanod.
KAIA
The members of KAIA completely shone through with their melodic vocals in the track “Dalawa.” Under Show BT Entertainment, KAIA debuted on April 8, 2022, with the debut single “BLAH BLAH,” which is also an absolute bop.
BINI
BINI debuted under ABS-CBN Star Magic on June 2021 with the track “Born To Win.” It strongly presents the members Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena like the eight muses of music.
SB19 Felip
Felip presented his self-composed composition “Pelayo,” which comprises lyrics written in English, Filipino, and Bisaya. This track further proved his worth as a multifaceted musician in a manner that was distinct from his role as a member of SB19. The smooth R&B track showcases his sensual vocals and striking visuals alongside a flowy choreography.
SB19
SB19 members always got something new up their sleeves. And the P-Pop kings have demonstrated time and again that they are deserving of the throne in all their releases. “WHAT?” is a song showcasing the group’s explosive side and spectacular performance that will always go up to the roof.
