Earlier, the lead stars of Decoy introduced their roles and conveyed their insights into their latest project.

Decoy is billed as a crime thriller drama that traces a rare criminal who is known to have committed a fraud of 5 trillion won. He died while on the run and was identified as a murder suspect eight years later.

Decoy will surely grab viewers’ attention immediately with its compelling tale alternating between the strange murder case in the present and the fraud case that shocked Korea in the past.

With that, a unique format that goes back and forth between the past and the present would be elaborated in a solid story spanning nearly 20 years that is full of unpredictable plot twists.

Revealing how he cast the lead stars and forge efficient working connections with them, Director Kim Hong Sun shared talking to them a lot was helpful

“I think I got to digest the character by talking a lot with the three actors. Thank you for doing so well.”

Jang Keun Suk’s Comeback Project

In the series, Jang Keun Suk plays the role of Gu Do-han, a detective who persistently digs into the case. Marking his small screen return, the actor relayed his thoughts about his project since Switch – Change the World.

“”It’s a comeback project after a long time, so I wondered what kind of image I could show you. Taking on the role of Gu Do-han, I wonder if it would be a new challenge to break away from the image I almost had until now. I tried to express a man. If you include the time in the military, 5 years seems to have passed quickly. I had a desire to break myself as an actor.  I wanted to break the obvious Jang Geun-suk and see a new me.”

Expressing his choice to work on Decoy to change his image, the seasoned bankable actor confessed the challenge of the character. He also discloses how the five-year break was a period of learning.

“I’ve never taken a break before, but I emptied and learned for a longer time than I thought. This may be the most cautious part. When I try to escape my appearance forcibly, it becomes awkward. It took time to create my latest character.”

Heo Sung Tae’s New Villain Role

Playing the biggest fraud criminal Noh Sang-cheon whose evilness knows no bound; Heo Sung Tae is no stranger to villain roles. He conveys the preparations he made for the role.

“I did not try to interpret it separately, and the writer wrote about Noh Sang-cheon in great detail in the script. On the set, the director did a good job directing, so I still followed it well. I have played a lot of villains, but as soon as I read the script, I told the director, ‘I want to write a comprehensive encyclopedia of villains.’ I also have a sense of challenge to see if I can fulfill my role.”
