The lead stars of the new KBS 2TV family drama, It’s Beautiful Now, gathered to share their thoughts about their new project at the press conference earlier.
Held online, the drama presentation was attended by Director Kim Sung Geun and actors Yoon Shi Yoon, Bae Da Bin, Oh Min Seok, Shin Dong Mi, Seo Bum Jun and Choi Ye Bin.
It’s Beautiful Now threads on the story of how three brothers of Lee family aspire to get married to occupy the apartment offered by the elders.
Notably, the series is penned by Ha Myung Hee. It is the respected writer’s first weekend drama and is known for her works such as Doctors, Temperature of Love and Record of Youth.
Featuring three love stories, the lead pairing will be decorated by Yoon Shi Yoon and Bae Da Bin.
Yoon takes the role of Lee Hyun-jae, a divorce lawyer who values living in the moment. Meanwhile, Bae Da Bin plays the character of Hyun Mi-rae, a personal shopper who sacrifices the present for the future.
Yoon Shi Yoon on His New KBS Weekend Drama
At the media conference, Yoon revealed he is a huge fan of writer Ha Myung-hee. The actor whose breakthrough project was also with KBS with Baker King feels grateful to lead the first 2022 weekend family drama for KBS.
“I am a huge fan of writer Ha Myung-hee. It was an honor when I was offered the work. I liked the KBS weekend drama as it is a genre that deals with universal family love that adults and all families can see. Our family loves it too. In a way, the opportunity itself was glorious, so I’ve been diligently working on it with a commitment that I’ve been blessed rather than chosen.”
Accordingly, Yoon emphasized the relevance of the story in these times. He expounds how the series tackles the difference in perception between generations about marriage.
Bae Da Bin Challenging Her First Lead Role
Marking her first female lead feat, Bae Da Bin conveys her thoughts about the career blessing she received.
“There is no sense of weight and pressure in the lead role, but I trust and take responsibility for the writer, director, and fellow seniors who chose me. The goal is to do it well.
Piquing interest in the love story she will draw with Yoon Shi Yoon, she relayed to look forward to the “positivity” of the drama.
“It is a drama that makes you think about the meaning of family. I cherish the viewers’ weekend and I will work harder to film it, so I hope you will look forward to it.
Romance Stories Worth Anticipating
Describing his character Oh Min Seok relayed how among the three brothers, owning the apartment holds a special meaning to his character.
Suiting up as the first son Yoon-jae, he is a dentist by profession but without a home. His romantic story with a law firm CEO Shim Hae-jun, played by Shin Dong Mi is packaged to fit the romance of adults.
Meanwhile, Seo Bum Jun who plays the Lee brothers’ maknae Soo-jae and his pair Choi Ye Bin both pledge a heartening story for the viewers.
“I think I will be able to give viewers sympathy, comfort, and even laughter through the author’s realistic story,” said Seo Bum Jun.
“Every time I read the script, I feel very healed, so I thought that if it was this work, I would be able to ponder and enjoy happily,” said Choi Ye Bin.
Producer Kim Seong-geun, who was in charge of directing, said, “I hope it will be a drama that is enjoyable while watching, and that brings the faces of family members to mind after watching.”
It’s Beautiful Now premieres on April 2 on KBS 2TV!
