Multi-talented artist Seo In Guk talks about his newest album – LOVE&LOVE – his first solo release in five years with Kristel Fulgar!
NYMA talent, Kristel Fulgar, shows off her fluent Hangul in a 20-minute interview with her top K-Drama idol Seo In Guk on June 30. Kristel expressed her gratitude to her management NYMA and the record company that represents Seo In Guk for providing the hard-to-come-by opportunity.
Seo In Guk and Kristel discussed a wide range of topics during the interview, including what makes someone his love, his plans for the next five years, and what makes him unique from other K-Drama stars of his generation.
They also discussed the actor’s favorite part of visiting the Philippines and whether he would be hosting a fan meet in the country any time soon.
Furthermore, Seo In Guk was appreciative of Kristel’s statement that she had studied Korean so she could understand him during his concerts. Additionally, the actress-singer prepared and practiced Hangul for five straight days for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
“I made sure I was at my calmest and most focused para magtanong po ako ng malinaw at makinig ako sa mga sagot niya. Kasi po kung nakinig ako sa advice na be yourself, baka maging hysterical ako sa harap ni Seo In Guk. May halo po talagang acting ‘yung interview para maikalma ko sarili ko.”
On the other hand, Seo expresses his excitement in his first song on the single album, My Love, which features singer-songwriter and rapper Ravi. Seo revealed that he wrote the song to spread positivity to people going through difficult times.
“I felt that with the track, I could deliver a small cheer up [even] in a sad way. [It’s my way of] trying to touch their hearts.”
Capturing Filipino Hearts + In Guk’s Plans for the Future
Through Warner Music Philippines, other supporters who were curious to learn more about their idol had the opportunity to do so. Here are a few of them and Seo In Guk’s responses:
On producing an album and performing in his ongoing drama, Cafe Mindamdang;
“I’m so happy to have the album and the drama come out together, and I’m seeing a lot of positive feedback from the fans about the album and the drama so I feel like I’m flying in the sky right now. If I ever get the opportunity to do a fan meeting in the Philippines, I’ll definitely join. I can’t wait to meet all of you over there!”
On writing a full-length album;
“I can’t wait to get the opportunity to release a full album. I’ve produced a lot of tracks for it, but because of the timing and all the [different] situations, I’m trying to see the best timing [for its release]. And yes, I would love to have a full album out.”
On considering covering a Tagalog song and on planning to schedule a fan meeting with his Filipino fans;
“I would love to try to cover a Tagalog song.”
He added,
“I would love to have a fan meeting with the Filipino fans. And also, personally, I would love to visit the Philippines and take a vacation over there.”
Seo In Guk can be seen in his currently airing K-drama Cafe Minamdang. You can also listen to his music LOVE&LOVE. The actor will also star in an upcoming film, Project Wolf Hunting.
