With the recent conclusion of Moonshine, Lee Hyeri expresses her thoughts and experiences acquired while filming the drama.
Embracing her presence once again on the small screen, Lee Hyeri played a dazzling moonshiner in KBS2TV’s romantic historical drama Moonshine. She flaunts her bravery as a confident moonshiner during the Joseon Dynasty, when alcohol was prohibited.
Although she shifted her performance to a historical drama, she retained the youthful radiance associated with her usual acting genre. Due to her bubbly demeanor, the drama quickly gained a reputation as a one-of-a-kind fusion historical drama.
Recalling the filming site where she struggled for approximately six months beginning in May of last year, Lee Hyeri conveyed, “It is touching to receive such an evaluation.”
Furthermore, the actress asserts that given the difficulty of her role in the drama, she remembers the time she and the rest of the cast went through hardships together.
“For the tough character, I even acted while rolling in a field of cow dung that is used as manure. Filming was already completed in November last year as a pre-production, but watching the actual broadcast vividly recalls the hard times we all had together. Yoo Seung Ho, who’s older than me and plays the role of a detective who catches moonshiners, has given me a lot of strength as a partner. Whenever I was thinking about something, he pointed out my strengths and gave me encouragement.”
Even on days when no filming took place, she did not take a break. It’s been more than a year since she began studying acting by creating a study group with other actors. “These days, I’m obsessed with going to study groups,” the actress laughs.
While attending solo lessons, Lee Hyeri emphasizes that she has been practicing various fields alongside other actors in plays and movies.
“I’ve been taking one-on-one lessons from an acting teacher, and since last year, I’ve been practicing with actors in various fields, such as plays and movies. I was worried about what my acting teacher said.It is good to solve tricky problems together. My confidence in acting has grown even more.”
An Endearing Support From Her Reliable People
Accordingly, her boyfriend, Ryu Jun Yeol, whom she has been dating for five years, is his reliable supporter. When asked regarding Ryu Jun Yeol, Lee Hyeri burst into a shy laugh as her response, adding, “It is still difficult to answer.”
Feeling more thankful than ever and surrounded by people who support her wholeheartedly, the actress thinks she has already lived a good life.
“He always tells me he’s doing well. After reading the script for Moonshine, he gave me the opinion how among the works I’ve done, Moonshine is especially interesting’. There are many people around me who always give support. I have many celebrity friends. I think I have lived a good life as a human being. “
It has been 10 years since she started her acting career in SBS’s A Delicious Life in 2012. Viewers await the actress’ mindset in her 30s with the outlook of challenging any genre without fear.
Above all, Lee Hyeri encourages idol juniors to set no boundaries and to be fearless in their attempts.
“I had a really busy life in my 20s with girl group activities. I want to used more in my 30s. To that end, I promise to spend this year really well. There are many idol juniors who are challenging acting these days. It’s embarrassing, but there’s something I really want to tell you. I hope you don’t limit yourself. Don’t be afraid to try it. Actually, that’s what I want to say to myself. Hahaha!”
