After 19 years, Lee Yeon Hee ends her contract with SM Entertainment
Confirming the news, SM Entertainment said, “The contract with Lee Yeon Hee will soon end. We discussed with each other and decided not to renew the contract.”
Debuted in the SM Entertainment Best Youth contest in 2001, she signed a contract with the agency thereafter. She made her acting break in 2004 as younger version of the lead character in Emperor of the Sea. In 2006, Lee’s popularity picks up after starring in a film with Hyun Bin, A Millionaire’s First Love. She also had her first lead role in MBC drama, One Fine Day.
Her vast portfolio include well-loved films such as M, Hello Schoolgirl and Marriage Blue. She has been actively pursuing dramas in the recent years opposite popular actors such as East of Eden, Phantom, Miss Korea, The Package and more. Her last drama projects were MBC’s SF8 and The Game Towards Zero.
It is known that Lee Yeon Hee is in discussion with VAST Entertainment, Hyun Bin’s agency. If she will proceed with the move to her new agency, she will join fellow actors Kim Yun Ji, Lee Jae Wook and Stephanie Lee.
