Uhm Ki Joon’s Wicked-Punishing Role
Portraying Matthew Lee, Uhm Ki Joon paraded confidence and extraordinary charisma. In the drama, Matthew Lee appeared like a comet and achieved success that shook the world. Contrary to rumors, nothing is known about him. The sharp eyes that see through people beyond the relaxed smile cause goosebumps for some reason.
A girl swept away by countless lies and desires disappears and Matthew Lee, who appears outside the world, begins an unimaginable survival game in order to punish the seven wicked people. Matthew Lee’s cool poker face staring somewhere makes us more curious about the cruel and bloody punishment he will complete.
What kind of connection does he have with the seven villains? Look forward to the survival game the villains on his game board will play.
From his iconic Penthouse portrayal, the actor feels grateful to work with writer Kim Soon-ok and director Joo Dong-min.
Expressing his preparations for his new character, he shared that it would be a completely different character.
“I am the representative of chemistry and I have the role of someone who wants to punish wicked people. It is a completely different character from the one where I showed absolute evil, so I paid a lot of attention to this part.”
Hwang Jung Eum’s First Villain Role
In 7 Escape, Hwang Jung Eum plays Geum Ra-hee, a self-righteous woman who regards her money and success as the greatest values in her life. She must win unconditionally what she wants, and she is the embodiment of desire, doing whatever it takes to achieve it.
Even in her published photos, she exudes extraordinary charisma as a competent CEO of a successful production company. Her arrogant face and her fiery eyes staring at someone appear poisonous.
Gorgeous and beautiful, she possesses a deadly attitude. Her attention is focused on what kind of boomerang choices she made in the past to get what she wanted.
Hwang Jung Eum conveys thoughts about challenging a new role different from her past characters.
“I received a proposal from the writer who said I would become a villain, so there was no reason not to appear in an attractive story and characters.“
She also revealed her feelings entering Kim Soon-ok’s world.
“Writer Kim Soon-ok is the one who creates something out of nothing. She has this prowess of changing something infinitely. It was an honor and a pleasure to work with her. I trusted and followed the writer and director. It is a powerful work created by the great passion and sweat of the production team.”
Lastly, Hwang Jung Eum describes her latest character.
“Rahee is a very confident, reckless, and entrepreneurial person. So she must look tough. She has many different sides from the roles she has previously taken on. This is the first time I’ve played a heavy villain role, so I put a lot of effort in advance. I carefully analyzed and focused on the script, as well as paying attention to making actions, tone, and gestures to radiate charisma.“
