It also explores the tender and bittersweet first love they share with a man named Jae-pil, whose presence ties their lives together in unexpected ways.

Kim Da-mi steps into the role of Go Yeong-rye, the eldest daughter of her household, who works tirelessly as a bus attendant to help support her family. Though still of school age, Yeong-rye dons the red beret and navy uniform of Cheong-A Transportation’s No. 100 bus, starting her day with morning calisthenics, collecting fares with both charm and persistence, and chasing after fare-dodgers with relentless determination. Chronic motion sickness and long hours can’t deter her from her dream of attending college and becoming a Korean language teacher. Even after work, she can be found poring over her textbooks in the company dormitory, showing the discipline and focus that define her character.
Yeong-rye’s story is more than just a personal journey—it’s a tribute to the hardworking youth of that era who laid the groundwork for today’s South Korea. Her determination, optimism, and refusal to give up echo the resilience of an entire generation. For older viewers, her tale is likely to stir up warm, wistful memories, while for younger audiences, it offers an inspiring reflection on ambition, perseverance, and hope.
The production team has lauded Kim Da Mi’s portrayal as a seamless blend of realism and charm, capturing both the dreams and grit of her character. “Kim Da-mi has vividly brought Go Yeong-rye to life with her unique sensibility and attention to detail,” they shared. “She’s smart, lovable, and endlessly determined, and we believe viewers will fall for her instantly.”
With its promise of heartfelt nostalgia, richly drawn characters, and a perfect balance of humor and pathos, A Hundred Memories aims to be a weekend drama that resonates across generations. The series premieres on September 13 at 10:40 PM on JTBC, inviting audiences to relive the era of red berets, crowded buses, and dreams that could withstand any storm.
