A Week Before I Die tells the story of a twenty-four-year-old woman who lives aimlessly with no motivation for life. Then she meets her childhood friend and first love who appears as a Grim Reaper, and they set to fulfill a bucket list. They face secrets they didn’t know about and find the meaning of life and love.
Previously, A Week Before I Die confirmed the casting of Gong Myung and Kim Min Ha, followed by Jung Gun Jo, Oh Woo Ri, Go Chang Suk, and Seo Young Hee, heralding the birth of a romantic drama with transparent emotions.
Then, the script reading scene featuring their first collaboration was revealed.
At the script reading site, the creative team and the lead stars gathered. They exchanged pleasantries with lively greetings and as soon as the script reading began, they fell in love with the unique characters and performed passionately.
According to the production team, Gong Myung is completely immersed in the role of Kim Ram-woo, who seems indifferent but has a deep heart and a warm appearance. From the shy high school days to becoming a Grim Reaper who reappears by Hee-wan’s side with a secret and suggesting a bucket list, he heated the script reading scene with his presence.
Kim Min Ha plays the role of Jung Hee Wan, who went from a high school girl armed with innocence and eccentricity to a twenty-four-year-old youth who has lost her smile, showing her wide spectrum of emotions. Hee-wan, who was loud and full of fun, had no choice but to become a helpless college student.
Jung Gun Joo, who plays Ram-woo’s best friend Lee Hong-seok, brought life to the role with his passionate performance as a former swimmer and now a high school student with a burning desire to compete in board games.
Oh Woo Ri, who plays the role of Hee-wan’s soulmate Yoon Tae-kyung, added fun moments by showing off mischievous times with Hee-wan and their fantastic chemistry.
The chemistry between Ram-woo, Hee-wan, Hong-seok, and Tae-kyung, who boasted a close friendship while spending time together separately, also warmed up the atmosphere on set.
Next, Go Chang-seok, who played the role of Jeong Il-beom, portrayed Hee-wan’s father, who carefully protected his two daughters, in a cheerful and warm tone. Seo Young-hee, who plays the role of Kim Jeong-suk, completed the role of a strong supporter who protects the dreams of her son Ram-woo and his best friend Hee-wan with her delicate yet powerful voice.
